whoa ! Be careful everyone ! Luckily i have only suffered from slight cuts which bandaids have solved the bleeding of. I think i would immideately faint if i had cut myself as bad as some of you did !

ever since I cut my pinky to the bone I have been extra careful with the knives. However even with all the care in the world I almost burnt down my apartment today while working on my model.

I had just finished cleaning up my airbrush with some thinner on a paper towel when a strong gust blew the paper towel into a nearby light (one that gets kinda hot). The towel almost instantly burst into flames and fell onto what else but more flammable goodness. I had a fire about 2 feet tall covering about 1 square foot of my floor. I had to smother it with a blanket that was in the room.

So remember
1) watch out for hobby knives
2) don't run with scissors
3) keep your flammables (thinners, solvents, glues) covered when your not using them

I've cut myself a few times building models. Im tending a pretty serious wound on my thumb right now, not much modeling time for me.

Honestly my wound wasn't caused by a hobby knife, but by a paul chen practical plus katana. I was polishing it at the time, and the katana is so sharp, that I cut halfway through my thumb before I knew it was cutting me. I've seen this sword cut things in ways I didn't know was possible, and have enourmous respect for it. I shouldn't even own it.

Well, just managed to tear my finger up again. Drill bit edges are SHARP. Using a chuck, with a drill bit, and twisting real hard by hand (drilling out hot wheels rivets) the bit slipped and sliced my index finger pretty good. Most blood I've shed...in the past week.
