Re: Subtlety is not my middle name; Mitsubishi EVO 7 - Montecarlo - Weathered badly :)

Hey I really like that! Particularly the sides, they have just the right shade of Monte Carlo grey icy grime.

Re: Subtlety is not my middle name; Mitsubishi EVO 7 - Montecarlo - Weathered badly :)

Thanks pallies!

It's really cool that the real picture of the car more or less is the same colour of the one I put on, because I had no real reference material.

I just put some paints together in a little bottle, like smoke, matt coat, primer, brown, flatblack, greys alike and I sprayed it on with my airbrush, on low pressure.

I tried to do only the sides , the back and the chassis, since that seemed like the logical areas the car would get dirty.

Now I think I learnt a bit from this project.

Too bad the dirt isn't really a really nice effect on the red car.

Ah well, on to the focus!

Oli

Looks great, Oli, and I think the dirt is a great on a red car. That's a relly cool model, and so cleanly built that I too thought it was from a video game. Great work Oli, what else are you working on?

Heh, thanks all!

well I m working on another junky kit I started a long time ago, the focus, the one with the blue, red and white, gonna dirty it too, but that's not really interesting to watch anyways.
More interesting projects are the nice dirty trabbant of course, and last but not least my red ferrari 355 which I want to finish before the end of november too. Also, that LM jag needs to be done once and for all.

Another project that Ive started is the nice belga-liveried escort MK2, it will be made clean and crisp.

And otherwise, there are way to many kits to start too, but I want to keep it to finishing started projects, clean that workbench!

and always a secretive project that needs a new donor
more on that in december!

Oli

NICE!!!! If that was in a diorama it would look even more realistic than it already is!

really nice Oli!
I really thought you were puling legs with that 1st photo LOL
Since you always pick on my wheels I think the underside needs some AMV weathering techniques j/k
Looks great!

Pretty much what everyone else has already said. For some reason my eyes are drawn to the windows and windscreen. Are they the kit parts that are very nicely molded, or did you replace them with something? They look super real! As does the rest of the model, great job!

Re: Subtlety is not my middle name; Mitsubishi EVO 7 - Montecarlo - Weathered badly :)

Thanks, but I didn't do anything on the windscreen and window, besides what I always do with clear parts is to make the outer edges black. This will result that there will be no distorted effect when looking through them.

As for the underside AFV techniques, mister 2CV, I dunno what you mean , please care to explain.

I never thought I d get these kinds of great comments on this car!
