Hey liny. When you say it might happen that the DOT and EPA change their laws, do you mean that for the better or the worse. Will they change the rules to stop the importation of parts or will they change the rules to be less strengent?

I think it ill be harder to import.remember, these agencies arent getting there pockets filled when we import this stuff.i know EPA is tryig to get the bill passed that you can not import a full motor.yes ,the Yuppie BMW driving tree huging hippies want to stop the companies that import front clips and motors.

why does everyone say that im bitter for paying what i did? im not, because in the end, if the feds come knocking on my door, i have nothing to worry about. youve already said that the cars are sold illegally.

but back to the post. why are you skirting the issue? you didnt answer WHY evo imports doesnt have a physical adress, why theres no RI listed under the name of evo imports, and no RI even listed even in orlando (where they claim to be). and whats with the unsatisfactory record with the BBB? i dont care if people get the cars illegally, but you are plan scamming them...which i do NOT like. and the way that your "selling" the cars, brings alot of attention to the owners. eventually the government will start to search those cars out and wonder why they werent shipped out of the country.

You are so dense; you only see what you want to see! WHERE DID I SAY I IMPORTED THE CAR ILLEGALLY!!!
The address is 403 flomich street, suite 100
Holly hills, fl

I never said I was an RI because I don’t imports full running cars. I have to tell you 100x already, it’s not illegal to import components .and again just because you have a MX car you think you know everything now. You never imported anything in your life. It’s a legal loop hole and that’s how 1g sells the noble also and everyone else that imports this JUNK, cause an INDIVIDUAL (do you even know what that means? Or you have A.D.D and can’t keep your attention on reading for more then a minute) can buy parts and assemble/build a car. Why don’t you answer that question Mr. know it all, because you don’t know how to…You also need to re-read what you are writing cause then you are saying “why they haven’t been exported”. Again you are talking on a full running non US car, it doesn’t apply to parts.

Bottom line is man, you think your the big man on this forum cause you have MX car, wooptie FCUKing doo !!! But at they end who you think majority of the people will listen to, you think they will listen to you when you never imported anything or people that have done it.

Man it is impossible to import anything. The only way to do it is by doing it illegally if you want to get anything you want. And the DOT, NHTSA, and EPA know there are a lot of illegal cars out there, but they are not making much of an effort to catch them becauce they know its not worth the time. Sean Morris has reported cars to them and they havent done shiznit about it. From hearing other people talking, I am convinced that is the only way to get the car you want. I wanted to wait to get it the legal way but Im tired of waiting and holding out another 13 years to do it through all the legal bullshit. Me and a lot of other people are tired of these strengent and difficult laws trying to do it the right way. If you can get a Mark II easily I might reconsider. But cant you get it any cheaper than what you mentioned on the phone. Technically its not illegal to import a car in parts. Its really not illegal to reassemble it once you have them. It becomes illegal when you attempt to register and title it for road use. So you havent done anything illegal as far as imorting parts go.

ok so lets just say that it is ok to import the way evo imports does...It is a kit car, so it is ok to drive and keep and do everything, go get the stickers from DMV and everything right? Its fully legal if you bring it in as a kit car right? o0 is that what your saying liny. I just wanted to know some ifs. -.- I'm not going to do it the illegal way no matter what but I'm just interested in hearing what liny has to say. =)

What do you guys think of importing a car to Canada and storing it there? It would be a way to obtain the car you want and while its still available in decent shape.

The cost to store it in Canada until its safe to bring it in is probably cheaper than what you were going to charge me to import the car, dissasemble it and import in pieces, then reassemble it. Can someone give me a estimate of what it would cost to put it in a basic storage unit for 7 to 10 years?

we will say on the cheap side 100 a month

so 100 month x 12 months = 1200 year
1200 year x 10 years = 12,000

Yeah thats about what I estimated. I was thinking 10 to 11 thousand. But you are not getting the whole picture. I did not say I was going to import the car as soon as it was 15. I was planning on doing it when I had 5 to 7 years left to bring it in the U.S. at 25. So the car would not be stored for ten years. Even while the car is in Canada it would not be in storage the whole time. I would import it temporarily from time to time and when the year expires, store it for a short time and bring it back in temporarily again. You are allowed up to five years if requested to have a foriegn car in the U.S.

This is what I was trying to do. Wait a couple of years after the car has been elgible for import into Canada by the 15 year rule. Then import the car with 7 years left before it is 25 making the car 18 at the time I import it to Canada. I would import it temporary for a year and request to keep it in for up to 5 years if possible. That would only leave 2 years of storage time for the car in Canada. Thats what I was trying to do. My other plan was to just drive it in for a year and drive it back when the time ran out, then turn around and drive it in for a year again. That way I would avoid storage cost all together but bringing the car in and out the country for seven years is impractical too.

Sorry for the long explaination, but now do you get where Im coming from?

Wow, that's the third address I have seen for Evolution Imports! That's since June 2003 when BBB first created their file!
http://www.orlando.bbb.org/newsearch...07330012002719
Here are the other two:
P O Box 547733, Orlando, FL 32854-7733
322 East Central Blvd, Unit 1713, Orlando, FL 32808
Additionally, it may be physical, but not permanent. Suites are notorious for businesses/scams that have legal issues because they can quickly be abandoned/moved due to short term leases.

I have to say, you sound a lot like celm on other forums that preaches the "legality" of Evolution Imports. And EVERY time when confronted about the use of the "Kit Car" policy, mentions the Noble and 1GRacing who imports them.

That's actually where you are showing that Evolution Imports is illegally selling imported "Kit Cars." This is per EPA's guidelines that you claim Evolution Imports follows:

Any attempt to use this policy to circumvent the Clean Air Act or the Imports regulations will be considered a violation of the Clean Air Act and will be strictly enforced. An example of such circumvention is:

A kit car maker who also provides the engine and transmission before or after production/importation of the body/chassis.
1GRacing is a legal importer/seller of the Noble, and they follow their requirements as such. They DO NOT provide engine/drivetrain because they are not allowed to. Evolution Imports provides the JDM engines, which are not legal and is circumventing the Clean Air Act.

Again, what Evolution Imports does is illegal and anyone should think hard about dealing with a business that has an unsatisfactory BBB rating, especially when dealing with high cost items!
