Mine's a mixed Great Dane and Shepherd, 7 years old. He thinks he's Marmaduke. BTW - One blue eye and one brown. Loves going for car rides.

Ahhh you bastards, this isn't a thread to just show us your pets. Post some kind of crazy things they do, their trademarks, what makes them unique and special.

Most of the pics displayed look pretty unique to me...lol.

A pic is worth a thousand words. Where's your dog's pics?

Well, I remember reading somewhere that a dog's intelligence can be estimated by how long it takes them to take a blanket off thier head.

My big dog(Niko, the husky/malemute mix) took about 2-3/4 hours once

Re: You know how smart my dog is?

My dog barks at the TV whenever some kind of animal comes on, mostly dogs. He even barks at fish or bugs sometimes

Re: You know how smart my dog is?

My dog sneak attacks. If there's a cat in our yard or some other animal I'll let my dog (German Shepherd) out and instead of barking and flipping out he'll run down the stairs of our deck really quietly and sprint at the animal and tear the shit out of it if he catches it. But if it's outside of the fence he barks and flips out.

He also won't eat anything that someone from my family gives him. It could be a chunk of meat and my best friend that's over here all the time and he'll sniff it and walk away.

Let's see what else...He puts his toys away and know what they're all called.

my dogs (2 cocker-spaniel/poodle mixes, one 8, one 7) do the car thing too. they will react differently depending on who it is pulling into the driveway. if it's one of our cars, they recognize it and bark as if to say "oh boy they're home! let me out i wanna go see him/her!" if it's any other car that they don't recognize, however, they will bark in a "who the fuck is that? HEY SOMEONE'S HERE AND I DON'T KNOW WHO IT IS!" kind of way. they especially go crazy when my mom comes home (the hand that feeds, lol).

Holly, the older one, knows what alot of unorthodox words mean. if you tell her it's bath time, the tail goes in between the legs and she hides behind furniture. if you say "where's the squirrel?" she'll run to the nearest window and look for squirrels. we also used to have Gartner snakes living under our air conditioner, and she would chase them. we've since moved the air conditioner and the snakes have left, but if you ask holly "where's the snake?", she'll go to the exact spot where the A/C once was and sniff around looking for snakes.

holly also has a love for snow. the second she goes outside in the winter, she'll be yapping at you, with her little tail going a mile a minute, waiting for you to kick some snow or throw a snowball that she can chase.

maggie is the younger one, and also the chill one. you will ALWAYS find her either attached to my mom at the hip (hand that feeds, remember?), or under the couch in the front room sleeping. it's always the same couch too, so we call it her bedroom. she's the fat lazy dog who pretends to be dumb, but she's actually pretty clever. when we first got her, she was just a puppy. when we would all leave in the morning, we'd block her into the kitchen so that she wouldn't go around peeing all over the house. every single day, we would come home to maggie greeting us at the front door. she always seemed to find a way out. we tried child safety gates (she chewed through them), plywood (knocked it over), plywood held in place with a couple of chairs (somehow managed to move the entire apparatus), and some that i can't even remember. it was so amazing that we nearly called her Houdini instead.

that's about all i can think of at the moment, but i love my mutts.
