or you can use a 300zx tranny. rb26 prices have dropped they go between $1800-$4000 with harness. front clips $5500 and under. the actual conversion should be well under 8000.

RB26's are still very expensive...RB25's more affordable...RB20DET's almost at the price of SR's...

You cannot use the 300ZX tranny...I believe Sean from MotoRex said that they have different bell housings...so it wouldnt work. Already been thought of...and failed.

WOW, a RB26 in a 240, I've thought of it, but never heard of it actually being done, that's def. a consideration cause it's only about a grand more then an S15 swap into a S13, and a lot more mods for the RB26.

i left a reply i guess it didnt post up well heres from my stand point. one the 300zx tranny wont bolt up even with an adapter plate trust me i tried the only one that would fit up perfectly was the rb25 tranny and it went well with my rwd set up since i already had the complete rb25 rear end. rb26 prices have not dropped you might be able to get just the engine with missing piping and turbos for 1900 but all the places ive been in japan and here in the us wont go beloew 3000. front clips are the way to go the cheapest one ive found was 4000 and that needed a new ecu because the other one was in peices front clip[s will go anywhere between 4000 and 8000 depending on miles and condition of the engine i you check out nielish motors i forget the exact spelling they have a r33 rb25 front clip for 4100 and that is missing somestuff.

Hey, I have heard from Motorex in Cali that you cannot put a RB26DETT in a 240, because the turbo's will not fit between the strut towers. So, if this is true then you will have to convert it to a single turbo before you put it in your car. So, in theory if this is true then it would be more logical to go with a RB25DET. Tell me if I am wrong

its not the sturt tower where youll be having problems its the piping from the turbos and the steering colum that will you give you problems all you have to do is re-work the plumbing and youre set

other than the turbo piping?

other than the turbo piping what other problems could one run into doing the swap. and i found a rb26 front clip for 3200 with 2 ecu's and rwd conversion uncut wire harness and 44,000 miles. so theres good deals out there if you keep your eyes open.

lol...well, be that as it may...it's still not a good idea to bring back old, dead threads, no matter how important what you have to say may be.

I had mine done in less than a week. Yes, its alot of work but there isnt all the cutting involved that everyone is talking about. RB26DETT S13 hatch running stock turbos. 12.3@118 mph on street tires and a one legger on pump gas. If you have questions I have answers [email protected]

AGAIN, 2 month old thread, and stuff you've said in other threads. not mad at you, just trying to get you to see why this isn't necessary.
