I installed the speakers today. Im still working on grinding and sanding out the actual panels though. So, right now, the car looks like it went through some weight reduction; no back seat, no panels, no nothing. I did finish sanding out the inside of the mounts that the speakers hook on to. Ill post pics when I get some. Actually, that sanding was more like cracking the plastic. Got lazy and beat the hell out of it to open the hole up more.

I know when I went to buy 6x9s for the rear speakers for my 1G, the dealer asked what car they were going in they said that I couldn't use 6x9s cause only 6.5 would fit in the back. It took me actually tearing everything apart to believe them. One would think that they have to be 6x9s cause the grill/speaker cover is in the shape of a 6x9 idk but hey thats by
 as well.

 These are them installed. Still working on the plastic covers though. Looks like weight reduction!
