Re: Road noise or stuck in gear feeling
I DID IT!!! Problem solved!!! I finally worked it last night, followed the instructions and it was easily than thought.
I'm ready to tear the engine and transmission apart after this, lol, j/k. The only problems I had was: (a). the rotor would not slide off the hub, I ended up removing the whole thing (rotor attached to hub), took the assembly and pounded with the studs sides down on to the concrete floor (with a towel), to remove the rotor. This was prior to spraying the rotor's center to the hub with WD40 and lightly pounding with a rubber mallet and then a metal bar with a rubber handle (now destroyed) and (b). my 1 7/16" socket would not fit thru the Jeep's alloy wheels, so I had to put the socket inside the wheel first (after removing it) to get to the axle nut for both removal and re-installation). Now for the other side, I figured it's better to replace now as it's also the original set. Thanks again, dksob81!! Great advice!! |

Re: Road noise or stuck in gear feeling
Your Welcome, Good to hear it all worked out.
I haven't had many problems with the front rotors sticking to the hubs, they ussually just slide right off after removing the brake caliper, but the rear rotor or drums are ussually siezed to the hub (8time out of 10) depending upon how often they get looked at. Well good luck with the other side and don't forget to update on your progress, if you run into any trouble let me know. Joe |
