...Who gives a shit how "gay" a car is? His whole point was that his "gay" Eclipse outhandled a "manly" Firebird, the same way a "gay" Miata will outhandle 90% of the cars on the road. oh, and i wouldnt drive the miata because I, personaly, think its GAY AS FUCK. I couldnt care less what some dumb fuck like you thinks.

I don't drive a Miata, I drive a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. Anyways, I'm sorry that you feel that cars with good handling are for "retarded little fags", but the thread-starter isn't looking for a quarter-mile project car, he's looking for a autocross/track project car, and yes, that means good handling is a priority. Yeah, he's a "retarded little fag" too. Most of us who are posting in this thread with constructive and helpful advice are. So why don't you leave us "retarded little fags" alone go post in a thread where anyone actually gives a fuck what you think?

Well i am not going to add to this argument mess up there exept like i said i don't want another "miata is a gay car" argument. since this is my thread i hope you all respect that.

I was talking to someone and they put another car onto the list

what do people think of a

MR2 toyota

I haven't heard much about these cars exept people love the turbo or swap a 20V engine from japan.

How would this car compair to some of the others with style/fun/handling/power

which would people perfer turbo or 20V

and this could lead into another car

AE 86?

thoughts?

Forget the AE86; Initial D turned it into an overrated, overpriced piece of junk. If you can find one for under $5,000, it's probably going to explode sometime soon. The '91-'95 MR2 Turbo, however, is an excellent option that had completely slipped my mind. It's always been competitive in the types of racing you're looking at, and it's as reliable as any Toyota on the road. Stick with the turbo motor, though. As glamourous as the 20V engine looks and sounds, it's much less cost effective than the 3S-GTE for making solid power, plus the 3S-GTE has a hell of a lot more aftermarket support.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the imput people have been posting on this web forum

Well i just might have one other question

I think it is going to be inbetween the MR2 91-95 and the RX-7 FC 89-91

Both I think are really close to each other in many factors

Which one would out handle the other one is my question?

The MR2 has the mid engine (with 42/58) while the RX-7 has a close 50/50 weight ballance.
they also have the MacPherson Struts which is kind of a neg but that could be easily upgradable.

I have read both good reasons to buy them based on the engineering

FC engine is small and is closer to the middle of the car then a regular 4 cylinder car plus it still has the 50/50 weight ballance

The MR2 has a Mid engine car which puts more weight in the middle

Someone described it as if you had two bars, one with weights on the outside and one with the weights on the inside, if you spin the one with the weights on the outside it is going to be harder to spin rather then having the weights on the inside.
Also the MR2 has an oversteer handle to it which professional drivers like, however because it has this feature does that mean with oversteer it can go around corners faster or is it you have to be more careful?
another thing is that the MR2 changed its suspension halfway in production so it doesn't have stap oversteer however i have also read that some people perfer the earlier version better, what do people here think?

I don't know which one would out handle the other or more comfort to drive under fast driving condition. Also which one is better for drifting/autox/track


Both engines at stock produce 200hp and both could be easily upgraded, I think though that the MR2 is more durable (mostly because it isn't a rotary which doesn't have good reliablility) However rotaries are not comon wich makes them kind of attractive.

I think both are really good cars and I think i came to almost a draw between two cars unfortunatly I can't afford both of them.

Also if anyone can think of any plus or neg of both of them that i haven't thought of please post. and i am still open to other cars that i haven't heard about

They are perfectly fine cars, it just comes down to personal preference and which one you can manage to find in good condition at a reasonable price.

it is personal preference but aren't rotories not very good as daily drivers because they don't have much low end torque? you should test dive both, see which one you like best and buy that one.
