what about this...i finish my exhaust with headers a hi flow cat and 2.5 piping from the cat back, cam gears, stage 2 camshafts, valvesprings and retainers and the a hondata to make it rev higher and remap the air/fuel ratio...where will that get me in whp???is this a good idea???

1. Before doing an ls/vtec there are many things that need to be done....new water pump,new rods, high compression pistons, conversion kit OR machine head to block, GSR ecu, balance crank, new seals, stronger oil pump(GSR), tuneing.....
I would rather buy a b18c5 and get the same or ver similar results, power wise. 2.Getting new cams will help, and you will feel a differnce....But you will not feel the whole potential of the cams without raising compresion. Higher compression the more torque, the hotter the engine runs, less timing is need to stop detonation. Pleas remember.... you can have a Lightened crank pulley OR a lightened fly wheel not both

without the vtec how can you raise compression...is it just high compression pistons and stronger rods or are there other ways to do it?? slow99integra i think im not getting a vtec i just was wondering what was involved in it...but i think im getting a full exhaust (headers back), intake manifold and throttle body, crower stage 2 cams, cam gears, valve springs and retainers and a hondata s200 for tuning....where will this get me in whp??

when building an "all motor" motor compression is the key headwork helps but compression is the key on all motor. to raise the compression you need domed pistons or you need to remove material from the head (milling) this creates a smaller combustion chamber thus raising the compression you cannot make horsepower (naturally aspirated) witthout doing this, you can do all the porting in the world but compression is the real key
