Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

Same here. Just wanted to thank the person who posted 3241. Imagine my confusion when the Jiffy Lube tech replaced my battery and my radio displayed "CODE". Grabbed my laptop and Googled search "chevy aveo radio code" and voila!, problem solved. Whew!

Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

It has to be programed with the Tech 2 and GM started this in 2001.Luckily my father does not have to go to the dealer, has a Tech 2 he bought from the dealer.

Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

Thank You Thank You,

I used the code list to reset my 2004 Aveo radio. Went to the dealer yesterday the cleaned my battery cables then came to me for the unlock code for the radio, I had no idea what they were talking about then they wanted to charged me $150.00 to get the code. Searched all last night to find a reset code, when I came upon this sight this morning. I printed out the code list and just went done the list trying each code until the radio reset Thank You
The code that worked for me was 6361. Just try everyone you'll get you radio reset.

Welcome on your first post.
Glad you got it fixed.
Your dealer was pulling a rip off on you.
The dealer should have checked the radio and recorded the code or unlocked it before cleaning the cables.
Or at least used one of them computer and raido memory savers.
There is no excuse for a dealer doing something like trying to rob you of a extra 150 dollars.

Here is 3 places you can report a attempted robbery.
The Better Business Bureau.
Mo. Attorney General.
GM 800 customer service in your owners manual.

Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

hi this shoudlnt be too dificult to figure out. find out what brand the radio/tape/cd player is. for example: sony, blaupunkt, clarion. and contact the head office and they can direct you to a person who can give you these variouse codes. for example i bought a blaupunkt tape deck a few years back from a wreckers here in Ontario and I called the head office down in the states and they gave me the codes for the deck. you may need to provide proof of ownership though to do this.

Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

I just purchased am / fm cd player for my firebird out of a wrecking yard. Came out of an SSE Supercharged. Never even heard of that model before. It's in really nice shape but I cannot unlock the unit. Says "LOC". Have tried many combinations like holding down 2-3 and 1-4 but no matter what I try it still say's "LOC". Can anyone help. Thanks

Unhappy Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

Still trying to unlock my stereo in 94 Firebird. I was asked today if I had the car door open when I was trying to get the first 3 digits to come up while holding down the 2 and 3 preset keys. I said yes and he told me that if the door is open it won't work. The computer thinks someone is trying to steal the stereo and that I need to do it with the door closed? Has anyone heard of this? I have tried holding down the 2 and 3 as well as the 1 and 4 presets and can't get anything to come up. Radio still says loc. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Aveo factory radio unlock code- DEALERS CAN'T HELP ME!

Thank you soooooo much to the person who provided the codes to access the stereo in my Chevy Aveo. The second code worked right away. You saved me $50 that the dealer wanted to charge me to look at the situation. You are awesome!!!!! Cindy

Dealers can't help me! Or can they ?

Yes, most people will tell you, you have to go to the dealer, but the dealer does not store any codes there or on their computers.
They have a list of 800#'s they use, depending on an Identification number on a sticker attached to the stereo.
If you have the stereo out & in your hands when you call the dealer, & tell them up front that you have the ID # for the stereo, 99% of the time they will give you the 800#.
THE ONLY THING IS, is that when you call the 800#,
The vehicle identification # MUST MATCH the vehicle owner that they have on file. If not then the owner on file must call and give information only they would know.
The operator at the 800# I called when I did my next door neighbors Honda CVCC ,wanted her name , address & telephone # at the time of registration , Date of birth , Vehicle Identification # and a 10 digit # on a sticker on the radio.
This 800 # was given to me by the Honda dealer FREE and the call was made & all FREE.

If it's a legitimate claim and the stereo is not stolen & you can easily & freely get & give the proper info it's very easy to do.
The only work is removing & re-installing the stereo
