I don't think we can expect anymore kits of common cars like the old Tamiya. They probably don't have the leisure to produce those anymore, but will put out the usual supercars from time to time along with simple to build kits aimed at beginners.

Stop whining y'all.
 First Tamiya is not producing new kits enough and when they do it sucks? I don't get all that... Anyway, I'm gonna buy this 911, and maybe more then once. It'll stand nice next to my other 911's + I'll probably buy one for my youngest 8 year old daughter, who expressed recently interest in the hobby, too! Let's compare a snapper from Tamiya with a snapper from Revell, and you'll know that even in this market space Tamiya is wayyyy on top.

Well, I'm expecting this kit soon from hlj. Just waiting on the shipping notice, and it'll be about 5 days till it gets here.

It is an odd move by Tamiya. Probably a kit that was produced with a limited budget. There has got to be a reason why the kit's release was delayed. The body shell's pretty crisp and looks to be a new tooling.
