They're not just stealing food. They're stealing electronics, shoes, jewelry, on and on.

Ok its a terriable tragedy, and its caught the US rescue services off guard.
But it will be rebuilt, and those who have suffered will get all the help they could ever possibly need, and then some.

In terms of numbers dead, and the amount of devasation its all pretty small on a global scale.
YAH? WTF, I have to say that is one of the most insensitive remarks I have ever heard here in AF, even if the scale is not compared to other world disasters its a tradegy nonetheless.

and the hell with the rest of the citizens trying to get out and survive.

Granted the media is showing alot of the looters that are stealing non-essential stuff, but alot are also getting stuff like food and water for survival. Dropping a bomb and wiping out the city is one of the most stupidest things I have ever heard. So if every major city that had a disaster happened to it, we should wipe if off. Give me a break.

I know that the US is hated around the world, but damn people, a tradegy is a tradegy.

What about the people that are trying to survive by patiently waiting for the proper help?

ummmm...the way things are going, they probably won't survive.

i think it's amazing how an event like this can bring so many people together though. Sri Lanka, which we all know was devastated by the tsunamis in Dec, gave the Red Cross 25,000. now, 25,000 isn't a WHOLE lot, but it's some money, but the fact that it's coming from a third world country where over 150,000 people died is truly amazing ot me.

I was not aware of any international help that had come it. That is very cool. Props to sri lanka.

What? Yes, people are looting food stores. No thats not all there looting. If you watch cnn and fox news, etc. People are stealing big TVs, dvd players, vcrs, came consoles, amps, subs, etc. So even though people in new orleans have no clean water, no electricity, food is scarce, but there stealing high end electronics.

Thanks Max,

I already donated today at the hospital. We may be doing a collection as well and sending water and supplies along with other city hospitals to send down there.

Re: New Orleans, my thoughts

i was just watching Access Hollywood. they ended the show with Anderson Cooper from CNN interviewing some politician. he laid the boot down on this lady. she was thanking all these people and he interjected and was like, umm i saw dead people lying in the streets, and you have the will to thank people right now?! it was pretty cool.

You know, sometimes even if you feel a certain way you should keep thoughts like those to yourself. For those possible thousand people's loved one's that are expected dead. I bet they could give two craps about your global scale. Its a tragedy and deserves more consideration than your giving it. I have alot of respect for you Moppie as a fellow mod and a senior mod to me but I think that was out of line. Just my . I hope nothing like this happens to any of your loved ones.

That is pretty sad....

Out of all people you would think the ADmin of the largest automotive place in the world would be a little more accepting of diversity and the pain's of others. Me growing up in NY, I was taugh to be accepting of everyone color race country... (One of my best friends is from korea) I don't care if your purple a friend is a friend & Human being is a Human being. That's like putting a lower value on life because someone lives x amount of miles away. Right now my respect has gone down alot for you. Being an admin dosen't make people respect you, it just makes them hold their tongues and walk away. I was always taugh not to speak in I'll of the dead either. I would never wish I'll of anyone on this board or anywhere for that matter. Just remember everyone has the right to life...

*Edit - One question moppie - In all seriousness what makes you view the united states different from others? Is it the money, lifestyle, Freedom?

I'm done...
