Re: ford escort
I may be a little late, but it is true that a valve could bend with a broken timing belt, but that is a rare occurance. My ex had a 94 Ford escort sedan that broke a timing belt and I think it bent the valve because it ran like shit afterwards. I was about 3 teeth off from TDC (Top Dead Center) and it ran rough. They took it to the shop to be fixed along with some other things and the car ran the same. I think they did nothing at all to it.
My 93 Wagon had a timing belt break 3 times on it and I placed the came and crank in time with each other..... IMPORTANT Make sure you match up the cam and crankshaft with one another before you put the belt on. Other than that my car still purrs ......oh and do not tighten the tensioner too much |
