Re: If you wedge a leaf blower in an intake pipe, will it add hp?

rednecks? i seen a honda, not a pickup truck. geez. get your stereotypes down.

Thats pretty much one of those "electric" superchargers they advertise all over the place.

Some pie would be nice...

Seriously though...I don't think it would make enough PSI to make any improvement. The improvement could've been from running with no air filter. Besides any idiot can run their car on a dyno then cut in someone elses dyno numbers.

Hell, you could make those dyno numbers say anything you wanted it to. New exhaust, ect, etc, etc, would make dyno numbers change. I would have to see it with my own 2 eyes, and then in no way would I do it to my own engine.

Later

Re: If you wedge a leaf blower in an intake pipe, will it add hp?

I could believe that the leef blower would add power because it doesn't draw its energy from the engine like turbos and superchargers. Who woulda thunk that it would make that big of a difference? Too bad this concept only works on the dyno.

Re: If you wedge a leaf blower in an intake pipe, will it add hp?

It would probably make a good makeshift charger lol. What you can do, is find a strong leaf blower, strong enough to handle normal gasoline for cars, split the fuel line after the pump to the fule line in the leaf blower, have it start when you turn the key, hook up the starter to the blower, and walah! a makeshift charger. It would be hilarious if someone did this, revved their engine with a leaf blower revving in the back round lolol, VRROOOM!

It doesn't have to make "enough psi". All it has to make is more than what's currently in the manifold, which is a negative number. .7psi > -x.xxpsi

Re: If you wedge a leaf blower in an intake pipe, will it add hp?

But can a leafblower move enough air to supply an engine??? I don't know how much air one of them puts out, maybe its enough for a little 4cyl, but would it be enough on somethin above 350ci??

Re: If you wedge a leaf blower in an intake pipe, will it add hp?

My 2.0L requires 211cfm at 6k rpm. Some hairdryers put out more than that (250cfm). Gimme a blower and I'll do that to my car.
