Re: Wait4Me Tunes

I can show you a 3 month CONSISTANT MPG increase im my truck over a 3 month period of about 1.2 MPG city. Allen told me to expect between 1 and 3 MPG increase with my tune, and I got it. Probably a better increase on the highway, but I don't drive there that much

You can see my mileage before and after the tune; I had a whole month's data before the tune.

Re: Re: Wait4Me Tunes

[quote=White Lightening]Has anyone else noticed that poppajoes ENTIRE history on A.F. postings has been the last couple days and ALL OF HIS POSTS are about wait4me tunes. Do I sense someone advertising in disguise?

Actually it does look like that but hey... I didn't start this thread.

Seriously though, I found another forum several weeks ago after buying my truck and have worn it out looking for information about everything and anything. Thought it would be interesting to see what other truck forums were out there. Well lo & behold, I found this one and a thread about the one thing that I actually felt made a difference for my truck, so I thought I'd respond, mighta helped the guy out. Next thread was a guy wanting to spend some money and if I understand this right, a tune is probably the best all around preformance mod, right?.
Anyway just thought I'd throw my 2cents in when......
Turns out I'da rather served time in pink panties with bubba as a bunk mate!

Blenderwizard-my 3mpg increase is highway. I don't drive it much (company car) so I can't tell you anything about city mpg. In all honesty I only had about 1500miles on it stock and 1000 of that was a road trip. Thats when I learned I needed to do something about preformance. Last road trip with tune was more fun AND better mpg.
I wanted to do some comparisons with this http://www.myscantool.com/ using the stock pcm and my tune but I havnt gotten to it.
Before anybody says anything, I don't know if the scan tool is junk or not. Just got it cause I like toys and it looked fun. Don't know if its accurate at all but maybe it will be good for comparisons.

White lightning- No, I don't sell scan tools either

Ever think that maybe with his prices he is trying to get his name out there or maybe hes not trying to rob people blind. I have corisponded with them and for around $75 you cand send them your pc or spend $157 and keep yours and get a pc from them. Even turn your tow button into a race buttom all with better milage. I think I am going with Wait4me .

Re: Wait4Me Tunes

now for my opinion. I dont know this Wait4me dude, but I can say one thing about Nelson. I call for my first tune, we talk and he get its dead on! My truck ran like a scalded dog. Stayed like that for almost a year when gas prices slowly crept up on me. I just 2 weeks ago got my 87 octane tune, with no questions asked he got it dead on again! We did a few other things also and he was very knowledgable about everything I've asked.
His customer service is TOP notch, you can't ask for any better. Yes it might cost more than the others, but you get what you pay for.

I also took into consideration the people that have used him before me. I mean look at Slowprocess and 02Denali.....That also told me alot. If they used him, I know it must be good.

And as for the tow/haul race button, I feel no need for one with my Nelson tune..maybe you just need one to keep up with me

Re: Wait4Me Tunes

I have a Wait4Me tune and it is exactly what I ordered. I asked for a little more seat of the pants feel and more MPG.
He upgraded my tire size, raised the shift points to 5800rpm and removed speed limiter. Over all the truck runs smoother, upshifts, downshifts are firmer, downshifts are instant. Trucks shifts into 4th around 95mph and still pulling the whole time. I am seeing around 3mpg better fuel mileage after I quit putting my foot in it. IT IS THE BEST $157.50 I HAVE EVER SPENT. I orderd the extra PCM so I would have my stock as an option. You have to have the Crankangle relearn done after installing unless you send him your PCM. I like others have searched the net all over for post on his tunes and reputation. I would say 95% success rate on the first shot. I think most people that ask for a general tune and the happiest. After reading hundreds of post on his tunes, it seems to me that the people that try and get technical and tell him what to change ie.. remove 50% Torque Manament, remove abuse mode, and other mods are the ones that are dissapointed. Jesse knows what he is doing, more so than the people requesting the mods. If you order one for a stock truck let Jesse make the decision on what you need and you will be happy.
That my 2 cents worth.

Re: Wait4Me Tunes

I have been spending alot of time on "another" forum in the past few months and it seems like ALOT of people are very happy with their Wait4Me tunes. Yea, with the Nelson you can do a little more, but if you are on a budget and just looking for something good, I dont see why people wouldent get it. In the end I am still going to get a Nelson once I get the money, but at the same time it seems like Jesse knows alot about what he is doing and feels that if he has a lower price, with "almost" the same tune, he will get more customers. Just my ....

Re: Wait4Me Tunes

No one will deny that the Nelson tune is top shelf stuff..it is!!! However, it's not the only thing which works and works well. I decided on the Hypertech as I wanted the option of being able to make changes at the drop of a hat. With the mods I've made I'm seeing a solid 17+ mpg in the city which is 3 miles above what I got before. The shifts are great and she runs great. I have a couple of more power train mods to make which will help even more. What I like most about this forum is there always seem to be a wide variety of what people do to improve their trucks and what's available for the same. Keep the good stuff coming!!!
