My 1:43rd Audi R8C and Bentley Speed 8 both have those same treaded tires...PM/PMA won't be fixing that any time soon!

The color is a bit hard to find.I've put tamiya MS-5 and the na thin layer of TS20 (?) Metallic green.
I still think the general shape isn't totally accurate.the car is a bit square but at least it exists.I'll post pics When it will be fiished.Agree with the tyres problem. It's been a while they use the same....and that's why the car is a bit high on wheels..... Good luck MANU |

Quite a large update this time. The cage was finished first, and the whole lot shot with grey primer, and then a couple of gloass black laquer coats.
![]() While that was drying the dash and seat were cleaned up. The seat includes molded in belts. IN a larger scale or open car I would have replaced them, but they will be fine detailed painted in this as they will be next to invisible anyway. ![]() I had to alter the driver seat slightly, as the wings were spread to wide to fit in the roll cage, and didn't look quite right to me. A quick blast with a hot air gun and some gentle preasure allowed me to re-shape the resin. ![]() PM used to produce terrible stearing weels that were just blobs of black plastic that would have looked at home in an old diecast! Now you get some thing much better to play with,. The photo below shows the rim, spokes and digital dash panel cleaned up and awaiting assembly with a little CA. ![]() By now the black was totally dry, so I could test fit all of the interior fittings. The big box in the passenger spce (electrics, cool-box?) is folded photo etch and will be sprayed black eventually. ![]() ![]() From my reference pictures the interior structure of the DBR9 looks very glossy aluminium. To taht end the whole chasis and cage was shot with a couple of coats of Alclad II Polished Aluminium. It's pretty bright, but by the time the body is on it tones down quite nicelly I think. ![]() ![]() The color for the body has been a real challenge as expected. It's listed as Middlesex Green, and Aston Martin colour. I could have got some custom mixed, but that's quite pricey so I settled for Ford Forest Green Metallic. It's pretty close, although in photographs it tends to look darker than it really is. I don't think it's quite right, but with decals and clear coat I think it will do the job. Two coats on the body have done the trick, now it needs a while to dry up. ![]() Next jobs are to finish all of the interior work, and I hope start in fixing the wheels... there's going to be quite some work to get them right but I have a plan!

Wow nice !!!!! Did you try the body on chassis to see if the car wasn't too high? I like your green.True it's hard to get right, looks green, sometimes metallic olive drab....

Cheers for the link Manu, just what I needed to go with my pictures. I've had the body on the chasis and it looks about right, the cage sit in the right place so I'm happy.
Todays update should probably be titled 'too much carbon'. I've started decalling the body work, which is pretty easy as the decals supplied are nice and thin and work weel with MicroSet and Sol. Given the amount of CF on the snout that's a really good thing! The weave looks a little large in the photos, but it's actually not too bad. The weave is pretty bold on the prototype so I thinl once the decals have a couple of coats of clear on them they should be about right. Just a few pictures to illustrate where I'm at. ![]() ![]() Decalling in the nose vents was fun, but not as hard as you might think. ![]() Over view of the body as it currently stands. My main work for the last couple of days has been to sort out wheels and tyres. I'll go into more detail soon, but at the moment I have an RTV mold hardening up which I hop should solve the problem! More to follow soon I hope.

There has been some progress on this kit, but not much. However seeing the pictures I may have to pull it out and try and get it done this week. Keep watching this space!

Oh my it's so beautiful. It's a pity getting these cars is near to impossible in Singapore, except thru the net!
