Re: Smoked and smoked bad by an Evo

Hmm I dunno, I know that the turbo on the 05's are a little more robust (10.5 hotside turbo). He might of been running race gas for all I know, cause he was trying to race a BMW before me. No matter, I just got back from the track, so I know my car's quicker now. I was beginning to think it slowed down (I ran a 13.529 @ 106.1 mph)

His trap time tells me there is more in it as well.
Close to a 12 he should be.
Of course, I am the same way. That first 60' of the track kills me.

I got 14.3 @ 105.42... lol... bad clutch and no traction. I gotta ditch these 245's on the rear of this damn car... too skinny and not sticky.

Yeah it should have low 13's in it IMO. I'm ordering the HP Tuner program shortly, to raise my overprotective rev limiter, which was kicking in at 5800-6000 rpms. I really need to work on my launch, as a 2.2 on DR's isn't good at all. Dunno what I was doing wrong, gonna have to find out from someone that knows how to launch an F body.

On a side note I ran better then Horsepower TV's LS Gun ran, and they have a more aggressive cam, tuning, exhaust, 12 bolt rear, and some forged parts. They only ran a 13.9 sec. pass, so I don't feel all that bad

Oh and Matty's car is really strong. He didn't even put it into 4th at the end of the 1/4 mile, so he might even trap higher.

Re: Smoked and smoked bad by an Evo

Well, I am hoping to trap around 113-115 here with this new motor, late next month!! That should be a 122-124 trap at sea level. Weeee!
I know all about the problem with the stock clutch. I can get you pics of mine. Toast

5800-6000. Stock limiter is 6150-6200. Not sure what it is exactly.
Your tach is probably climbing fast enough that is lags behind a little bit.

Re: Smoked and smoked bad by an Evo

Found a shop w/ an HPTuner programmer that will dyno my car, and tune it. They will do it for $350. I'm hoping to see 350 whp when all is said and done.

Not bad.
As long as they know what they are doing.
