Re: Scams on Ebay!

I bought a Focus WRC Tamiya kit from one of these 'eastern sellers' and it arrived within a month. Quality! Then I ordered a Renault 5 Turbo Rally (Tamiya) and Audi Quattro Rally (Tamiya) and only the Renault turned up! That was about six months ago. It's so tempting because even with postage so high I still get these models half the price of the ones in my LHS (one in my home town now, woohoo!!) Now I'm thinking of just getting my kits from the LHS - buying from the east can be dodgy via ebay.

Re: Scams on Ebay!

Only one bad experience, buying from america.
Kit turned up with no wheels.
I tried emailing the guy several times but no response then when I pushed it further he threatened me with neg feedback. Was like a red rag to a bull.
He has now left lying negative feedback on my account!

Still, it amuses me to send him abusive emails from time to time!

Hi guys!

I'm new here but I read this and I know this dude... His name on eBay was Nicedriftking right?

I bought him 2 180sx and I'm still waiting after a month... my Z-tune came in less than 15 days!

One day, me and my friend (who ordering my cars) went to his feedback and it was all came red by the week!! And this ***** is no longer on eBay!!

I had a lot of projects on these cars! Projects that I cannot use on a Z-tune or a Skyline patrol car (traitor edition )

I understand you...

And when did you paid the item?

Did you saw that:

-They pay for flight sending and they came by boat;
-Peoples are waiting 2-3 months;
-They paid extras for a "solid-box" and don't have one;
-Models are crushed in boxes!!

He must have send mine! I live in Montreal, Canada... it's too long: SURE THEY ARE COMMING BY BOAT!!! (if they've been sent!)

I bought my first kit of a seller called nicedraftking and the service was great! Fast shipping and low shipping costs. But now he seems to have stopped selling on ebay. On august 2nd i jus bought a ferrari 360 spider off a seller called lowbodel but i have still not recieved item. I hope to recieve in next day or two in time for my 16th birthday. I tend not to buy off sellers with more than 3 negatives per month just to be safe. I have had no problems with ebay scams as of yet, and i hope i dont. I also always use paypal just to be safe.

There is a seller from Hong Kong on eBay that has been there for a long time...just under different names (well, new accounts really). I can't remember the first names he popped up under, but I ordered a Fujimi Lancer VII from him and the box was just wrapped in paper...and smashed, of course. E-mailed him, and he said he would send me a replacement body...he didn't, but at least the damage was reparable. He then got a metric butt ton of neg feedback and disappeared. Came back as someone else. Someone on here had posted that it was the same schmuck and to not to order from him. Then he changed his name to heiheihei999, same pattern. Now, I think, the Nicedriftking is him again. Same pattern, packing and shipping practices.

These Hong Kong sellers put up so much stuff, give them some time to get feedback before bidding on their stuff. If they last six months or so and still have a reasonbly good feedback rating, then bid on their stuff. The thing that's starting to get to me is that they seem to be selling their stuff for Pounds Sterling. I knwo the used to be a British commonwealth, but come on...used to be. The sellers from China are doing it now and hell, I even spotted a guy from Italy pulling the same crap! They used to always put the auction in American dollars. Now, what was 12 dollars is now 12 pounds, looks like the same low price, but it's really doubled up now (for us Americans anyway) with the low shipping price of 9 pounds. It's like they are trying to lure in the American kids (or some adults) who don't know better and get thier money for something they thought they were getting for a cheap bargain. When I first started ordering models on eBay back in '99, Hong Kong was the place to go, then the various Japanese hobby shops would be next. Now I just order from HLJ or Hobby Search. Though I am ordering from more American shops now, since for some reason they are getting the new kits much faster now than they used to. But for Fujimi kits, I'm still ordering them overseas...I'll be dammed if I'm gonna pay better than Tamiya prices for Fujimi models (Fujimi Lancer VI is $39.99 in my LHS....comes with a free layer of dust).

Wow...that was long...

Re: Scams on Ebay!

The only problems I have had with Ebay sellers seem to be US Sellers, send the wrong items, items never getting here, etc. Don't think USPS etc know of the UK
Never had a problem with Asia sellers.
I have 318 (100%) positive feedbacks and hope to keep it that way.

I brought two kits from nicedriftking, and I got them both, but the boxes were in a right state. Thankfully the contents were OK. I left bad feedback for that.

I'm currently sending abusive emails to a UK seller who has just done me wrong, sold me a tamiya kit, said it was new and complete, has been started. Hasn't answered one email yet..!! Bad feedback about to be left..

Tomchina is the only HK seller I use now. HLJ is also somewhere I use, and for the rest, I bid on UK only no more then £10, includes delivery. This is why I get models for £4 -£8 at a time. Unless I really really want it, and I might go as high as £15.. Fed up with un-honest UK sellers.. And the postage on ebay is a joke..!! That is why I factor this into the bidding.. If I don't win then sod it..!! I wait for the next one to come along.

Like I said, paid too much for a MP/14 once, and this was the last time I entered a bidding war with others to ensure I won..

I am hoping he got mine in before he went nuts or whatever. Mine was one of his last auctions before a flood of negative feedbacks came, and he actually responded about a week before I found out he had bolted.

Anybody know if American Express has any fraud protection for stuff like this?
