In Russia its 22.1 per 100,000 people in the US its only 5.6

My country actually has the same crime rate as Russia, but the murder rate is like half of theirs. Those Russians dont fuck around, they got alot of people thirsty for power

I agree. A friend of mine lived worked in Moscow all his life and just got out last year. His stories of Russian corruption, murder, extorsion and the open operation of russian mobsters is astounding. Russia is a very, very dangerous and unpleasant place to be.

"American Language Center, a Moscow-based school that taught English" there is most likely reason. Made lots of money, did not pay his "taxes" and was shot. Mostly rich people went to this school as it was private; He made lots of money there and did not pay his protection thats all.

Its not an unpleasant place to be, its like the rest of eastern europe, its beautiful during the day, lots of nice people. Just dont walk around at night alone or without people that live there

I'm polish and i dont even walk around in poland at night alone (unless its an area where i know alot of people) cause if you walk threw an area where they dont know you, they'll jus beat you up for fun. Every "osiedle" which is like a group of apartment buildings, has their own gang and they want it to be known that their "osiedle" is the baddest. On top of that you have to worry about the "kibicy" which are like gangs of soccer hooligans, they just walk around town in groups of like 20-30 beating people up for fun

I appreciate your input, but Moscow is not Poland.

Now, I have never been to Moscow, but my friend (34 years old) had lived his life there and moved to Canada last year, never to go back, because of too many daylight assasination and bombings of public buildings.

He has seen people murdered by fully automatic weapons fire just 100 ft from where his car was stuck in traffic in the daytime.
He missed being killed by a car bomb by minutes. It went off, destroying half a building just minutes after he walked by the place, again in broad daylight.
He is tired of being shaken down by corrupt cops looking for a bribe. If you don't pay them, you risk being arrested and detained.
He is tired of daily petty violence and murders, some from domestic fights, most from mobster hits in the middle of the night.

All that stuff you mentioned happens everywhere in east europe, whether you're in Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine or Russia. I've bin to or lived in half of those places, i've seen it with my own eyes

The killing is worse in Russia tho, thats a fact. Thats jus because the country is the biggest and their mafia is huge, they make more money since they're bigger so naturally theres more people who want that money and have to knock off people to get it
