now, August 15th, the low grade which I think is 85 octane, is $2.45/gallon in western New York state

as for my average per tank, it's about the same as my previous car. 300 miles or so. Although to do that means taking the guage closer to E than I normally like to so I normally fill back up around 250. City I average about 18mpg. I've gotten into the mid 20s the couple times I've done a full tank on the highway

Thumbs up

I have a 2005 LS TB, with 2000 miles on it. Just took a 1500 mile round trip here in Texas and avg'ed 23.9 mpg with no/AC on first fill-up fairly level road 75mph . Hill country av'ed 21.6 with/AC 75 mph on second fill-up. In/around city av'ed 18.2. On return trip w/AC av'ed 20.9 mph. Going was from hi alt. to almost sea level. Used cruise control 99.9% of the time on the open road. Avg gas price $2.42/gal going $2.53 five days later coming back(same gas stations). I used 87 octane all the way. I have been av/ing between 16 and 18 in stop and go city driving, no rabbit starts. Loved the ride in the TB both city and freeway, steering takes some getting used to at first. No problems yet (fingers crossed)

Re: What is your average miles / kilometers per tank?

Hello everyone, sorta new to this board, I used to be a Blazer reg. New 05 LS 2WD, (450 miles on odometer at start of trip) trip to Ohio from Chicago, a/c and cruise, 23.5 mpg, (tollway/turnpike 65-70 mph) return trip no a/c w/ cruise on US 70 and US 65 (avg. 70 mph) 24.2mpg. Rode great, no mods except cosmetic (bug shield, weather tech window deflectors) gotta say I'm very pleased with my new baby. Around town driving I'm between 16.9-19.2. Locally gas for reg. unleaded running 2.59-2.69 and higher in the city and suburbs close to city.

I get about 360 miles out of a tank. (22 gallons)

My mileage is 17.5/18 mpg on regular roads doing 55, and I get 22/23 on freeway, doing 70.

YES, I drive with a light foot and 40 psi in the tires to get these numbers. But If you ramrod it around town, roaring away from stoplights , it will get 13 in town, like every other SUV out there.

Re: What is your average miles / kilometers per tank?

Just bought an Ascender 2005 leftover with 4.2 I6 4x4 5 pass... went to DC on a road trip from CT and averaged about 19mpg (in a4wd for half the trip due to snow) using the old fashion way of miles / fuel as I don't have a trip computer option :-( I was getting about 340 miles a tank if that helps, driving about 65-70. It amazes how "slow" this engine turns at such speeds. my last truck (rodeo - 3.2 V6) would spin around 3200 rpm at 70 where this is about 2000 if not less.

Plus I hope it will get better as I only have about 1500 miles total... how many miles do these I6 engines take before they "break-in" I know the book says 500 miles but...
