Red Bull nor Sobe's ever give me their supposed energy boost. Monster is now my drink of choice. The Lost Energy is also pretty good, but I'm not big on the taste. But I really need to cut them out.

Tea gives you the longest lasting caffeine boost. I had 3 glasses of homeade tea yesterday and it was hell sleeping last night.

Re: stupid energy drinks

Caffiene will not help you with tests. I performed better during my finals than I usually do this semester, and I had none for the first time all week. I was much more calm during the tests which helped me concentrate. Try it, your body will thank you.

My friend, the problem isn't the energy drink - it's you. I'm an energy drink fanatic, and I've got this shit down to a science. If you're looking for "awakedness" from an energy drink, but no buzz, then you need to pace yourself. Example: It doesn't sound like you have a whole lot of caffiene tolerance built up if one sobe adrenaline rush set you off, so here's what you should've done - drank one can over the course of a 1/2 hour. Slowly sipping it. After 15 minutes of drinking, you should've had a small glass of cold water. Cold water will help slow down your metabolism - furtherly slowing the caffiene induction rate. You'll still be alert, but it will help prevent "the buzz". After a 1/2 hour, when your drink is gone, you should have yet another glass of water. And a 1/2 hour later, have another glass. Not only does all the cold water help prevent the buzz, but it will give the drink something substantial to mix with and furtherly slow the process - not to mention the constant pissing will help keep you awake. There's nothing to help keep you awake like a twitching PC muscle holding back the flood waters. LoL. try this next time. The key is all about pacing yourself.

Re: stupid energy drinks

Here, I have a way for you to save a little money, and have a better tasting energy drink. I picked this up in a Nutrition magazine that my dad found. I've had a love for Mountain Dew as well, so this was the perfect drink for me.

Ingredients you will need:
1/3 finely ground oat bran
16 oz. Diet Mountain Dew
8 oz. fat-free strawberry yogurt
1/2 c frozen strawberries
2 Tbsp frozen orage juice concentrate

Most of these items can found in your kitchen if your mom is a cook. So that can save you on the cost. Anyway here's what you do.

Pour the oat bran into a blender and process until the flakes become a powder. Then when you have done that, add in the remaining ingredients, and then blend it all together until it is smooth. If you have to, blend the leftovers before drinking.

This should make you about 3 servings according to the Magazine. There you have it, one hell of an energy drink. I love this stuff. It helps me greatly at work because I'm up at 2 am throwing around heavy boxes all morning long (shipping and receiving). It will be well worth it for you, or any of you to try this. Enjoy!

Re: stupid energy drinks

Energy drinks all suck balls. None of them work for me neither does caffeine. How about trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep and eating right, you wouldn;t need energy drinks.

A Nutrition Magazine recommended using a Diet drink? Any real nutritionist will not recommend the use of any soda or diet sodas.

Re: stupid energy drinks

You could always try meth

I've never liked any of the energy drinks, but last week I tried a Crunk Juice. It works pretty well and didn't give me a buzz by any means. Had a pretty good taste too. I was told that Crunk juice and vodka are quite fond of each other too.

Re: stupid energy drinks

I'd say I've tried most of "wake up" methods out there, and I would have to agree with Ridenour on this one. All you need is Monster (easily the best energy drink) and a nice big bottle of water. You need to drink both. I've pulled many all nighters that way, and while it's not especially healthy, it gets the job done. You also need to make sure you have something in your stomach, which helps prevent the jitters.

I definately agree. Water with any energy drink helps neutralize the jitters for me.

Dont know if any of you heard about this, but Red Bull increases your chance of getting cancer or heart attack.

Re: stupid energy drinks

Everything good increases your risk of getting cancer. Just live with it.

I hate energy drinks. I hate the way they taste mostly. My brother had me swig one. I think it was called monster, that tasted like a combinatino of liquid cotton candy and broccoli. It was SICK! And that much sugar can't be good.

Coffee = God's 14th best gift to man. And if it's God's gift, then you know it can't be wrong.
