Re: 93 Camry LE idle/fuel (?) problems.....

Well....there seems to be an aparant victory in this battle of the bad idle. Did some calling around, and one mechanic suggested the internal ignition coil inside the distributor. So far....this has done the trick. Just posting this so that others in the future that may have this same problem will know what to possibly look for. Don't worry....if it turns out to not work after a week or so, I'll be back. :P

Re: 93 Camry LE idle/fuel (?) problems.....

OK, I will try to help you.... I have a '92 & '94 Camry with the 2.2 engines.... My '92 blew off the lower hose & got real hot (my Amsoil saved the engine)... Camry would not start after cooling down so had towed to house.... I was going crazy as you are.... There is a Condensor (capicator) on one side of the ign. coil INSIDE of the distributor that can LEAK or SHORT out.... If it shorts out it will take a fuse out.... If it has leakage it can drop your ign. voltage..... This condensor can be bought at you Toyota dealership but they will probably have to order it (around $2.50)..... My condensor shorted due to the engine getting hot (dead short)..... Hope this helps....

Re: 93 Camry LE idle/fuel (?) problems.....

Thanks for the info. I ended up fixing it a few weeks ago. It wound up being the ignition coil in the distributor. Haven't had a problem since. Thanks, though.

Did you replace the Condensor??... Might be a good idea as they will fail or leak because of the heat over time.... Where did you get your Ign. Coil & Price? $____ ... Bob

I got the ignition coil at my local O'Reily's auto parts store. Cost about $40.
