Right. So one man can screw a girl and then a bunch of other men can tell her she can't have an abortion.

Uhm...did you even read the first post? If so, I think you might be the missing link between humans and monkeys, or at least have the same mental capacity of the missing link.

Aren't a bunch of other men probably thinking more about the good of society than one redneck that just knocked up a girl.

Re: Texas Governor Signs Abortion Bill

abortion is a good thing, it's just the safest alternative. to have doctors that can professionally perform the procedure, rather then some of these youngs girls "taking care of it" themselves, is far better then erradicating it. the parents permission is a great idea. it's better for these girls to have the support of their family afterwards then just to have their friends, boyfriend etc. another point some of these girls are scared shitless of their parents finding out, that's why they do it. if parents now have to be informed, then these girls are going to have to tell them... some parents might pleasantly surprise you. could cut the number of abortions down maybe?

-then having girls at the age of sixteen, fifteen whatever going to some joke of a doctor and him performing it illegally, or posioning themselves, beating themselves hoping for a miscarriage. that is why legalised, professional abortion is the safest alternative. come on now, let's be realistic. in some cases and i'm not just speaking rape victims, abortion is the most appropriate, solution. a thirteen year old having a baby? maybe then something in educating these children/teenagers about sex is not being met. and what of circumstance? some people live in fucked up places, poverty, some are uneducated, some are just plain hopeless. abortion can't be a black and white issue, if any one thinks so your daft.

Dismembering the body and vacuuming out the parts may be what’s in the best interest of the mother, but hardly the best interest of the unborn. Aside from the fact abortions are mostly about a lack of responsibility and selfishness then anything else, the law is a good one. No minor should have any procedures performed without the parents being informed.

I don’t feel sorry for any girl who decides that they have to bypass their parents and have a ‘back alley’ abortion. They certainly didn’t have a problem bypassing their parents and having a ‘back alley’ romp.

i agree the law is a good one. but what you said above shows your complete lack of understanding. people who get abortions aren't just drunken teenage girls who go for a romp. everyone who undergoes this procedure is an individual, whose personal problems may hinder them for being a fit parent or endanger the life of the child/mother. for example, the mentally disabled, the mentally ill, extreme poverty conditions, they are terminally ill, they carry the AIDS virus or other passed on sexually transmitted diseases, are drug abusers. i normally don't like to get personal but someone close to me who is seventeen and is autistic fell pregnant to a boy from her school, also autistic. the only option was to have the baby aborted. this is why i care that people don't have to resort to unsanitised, unprofessional conditions. by the way who are the 'mostly' you refer to?

I agree that if it is going to be done, then it should be done safely, in sanitary conditions.

However I can't agree that a child was killed simply because there were two autistic parents. This action brings up 2 questions to me:

1) Why was the baby killed? Could it not have been born, then adopted? Having 2 autistic parents in no way guaranteed the child would also be autistic(please correct me if I'm wrong)

2) Has either of the autistic individuals been sterilized? If it has been deemed (through the abortion) that they are unfit to be parents but have had sex, isn't it a more responsible action to make sure that another innocent isn't killed, by sterilizing one or both of them?

Re: Texas Governor Signs Abortion Bill

i agree, but her mother made the decision. her mental capacity however which is that of a thirteen year old, and physical disabilities would have made the pregnancy extremely difficult with a high probability of miscarriage. this was the reason for the abortion. i can't say i agree with abortion, but i can't support the abolishment of it either. with the sterilizing, yes i agree also, but her mother is the one to make that choice. she didn't even no her daughter was having sex, which was a huge shock. believe me this was in no way an easy decision for the mother, but she did what she believed to be the best thing for her child. who knows what any of us would do in that situation. anyway i'm just saying there are a few cases in which abortion is a fair decision and that conditions where the women undergo the procedure need to be of the safest standards.

Re: Texas Governor Signs Abortion Bill

I see; much more complicated than first seemed on the surface.

Sounds like Mom has a tough decision to make, but it's easy to see that the situation could recur, and if the autistic woman has physical issues and and an abortion would need to be done each time she became pregnant, then having her tubes tied seems like the safest and most humane option.
