Just like any other "weak" colors, such as yellow or red, orange is translucent, so it requires base color after primer. What color of primer did you use? It it was gray, I think it's very hard for orange to seal it sufficiently. If it was white, followed by yellow or tan, I don't think you needed to use that much of a paint.

I used "Super Surfacer Primer L White" (Tamiya).

Your hobby store might have gotten a bad batch. If you remember how heavy it felt, go back and compare to other cans or go to another store.

OK, thanks to everybody who posted here. I ordered another spray can of TS-12 orange, maybe this will be better.
BTW: The Subaru Impreza WRX STi looks great with the body painted in TS-12 Orange and the golden rims. |
