Re: Sept 11

I think that is what the memorial is trying to keep from happening. 9/11 changed my life, I have allready lost a few good friends and will always remember why we joined and try our best to make shure that it never happens on American soil again

I am in awe of that rolling mural. I find it breathtaking in its own. I bet that vehicle causes quite a gridlock when people roll past it.

I think its time where the whole 9/11 thing can die off.
You know sivic... its a damn shame you feel that way...

Let me tell you a story... I was in those buildings on that day... on the 33rd floor of tower 2. I am lucky my name is not on that truck. So screw you and your little pitty party. I lost friends & colleagues... both in life and in the fire department. I am a firefighter myself. My friends died because someone wanted to make a statement... Someone tried to kill me that day. I had friends jump from floors because that was the best choice they had left to make. My other friends died because they went to save others. Screw you. You should hope to be half the person these individuals were. Maybe someday someone will admire you for the sacrifices you have made in your life. Then again... for you... probably not.

How dare you criticize people for have pride in their country... it's screw balls like you who bring this country down. Comparing us to Nazi's... who the fuck are you?

I do agree that bad things do happen around the world every damn day... and you should feel lucky that your ass has never experienced it up front and personally... Thank our military for that... and they job they do while you sleep quietly in your bed... or go to the gym... I don't ask to be sad for me or my friends... I respect them for the contributions they made in their lives. Respect them for that... have pride in your country... or I have 4 words for you... GET THE FUCK OUT!

Re: Sept 11

I never said I dont have respect for anyone who lost their lives or anything like that. What happened was fucked up, no one deserves for that to happen to them. The only thing I was trying to say is eventually you have to suck it up and move on.

I was not comparing anyone to nazi's I was simply comparing nationalism to something that the nazi's used to their advantage, simply making a little joke, dont get your pantys in a wad. There is no denying that 9/11 caused a surge in nationalism, and if you ever took a 4th grade history class you would know that the nazi party used nationalism to their advantage. Just making an observation.

Have pride in my country, sure why not, I have no problem with someone having pride in their country. Wallow in something that happened 4 years ago? Nope, not for me. I have the amazing ability to MOVE ON....you should try it some time.

FYI: that's a memorial. A memorial is there to remind you of what happened and to commemorate the lives that were lost. Should we forget about what happened? No. You know what the difference is when it happens in another country? nothing. that country will build a memorial for them and do the same thing. should we have to care? no. should other countrys have to care about ours? no. I doubt this truck is cruising around in Poland, it's an american truck, in america, making a memorial of a tradgedy that struck america.

Well said. Look... people deal with things in different ways. Like myself, I am reminded of this on a daily basis... whatever that is my deal, not anyone elses. However... Let people honor and remember and whatever they want to do... this is your right, as is voicing your opinion. Just look around, we are a memorialized country. Between half the roads which are "veterans memorial highway" or the Jefferson Memorial... this is how we do it... all I am saying is be proud... let people do their own thing. You think we should move on great... i say so to... but... NEVER FORGET!

Not trying to pick a fight here, talking about 9/11 from a non-american perspective is basically playing with fire, so I'll keep it short and to the point.

Gritmaster hit the nail on the head, as a Canadian don't expect me to care about a truck curising around America. Not that I want to forget what happened, but American Media is cramming 9/11 down everyone's throat and expect us to care as much as Americans do, we don't.

BTW, All throughout grade school I was taught that, 'NEVER FORGET' was the motto for the survivors and veterans of WW2. Just remember, everybody has suffered tragedy at some point, you're not special.
