I'm just curious... Did you get a new full CF hood, or was the skeleton of your stock hood used, and then a carbon fiber overlay applied (Or something like that?) Thanks

They used my hood, made a skeleton of fiberglass, that cracked, and overlayed the carbon. You can email me at the address provided and I would be happy to share details. I cannot get into the forum druing regular hours at work, its blocked. LOL

I WANT ONE but my terms:

I am interested and money ready. However, before I jumped into the boat here are my terms:

1) Strictly no pins, must utilized stock latches and hood.

2) The quality must not be anything that PrimeraGT experienced.

If the above terms are met, you got yourself another buyer.

No doubt, it has to have stock latch, not down for pins.

they say it will utilize the stock latches, but honestly, id rather have hood pins. cause if your going 120 mph i dont trust a 20 lbs. hood not flying into my windshield. pins just reinforce it. they dont look THAT bad.

Just curious, but how is that any different from having a stock hood? With the way the hood slopes, wouldn't it be forced down with the increased airflow? I may be wrong here, but i don't see how it would easily pop up, over a stock hood that is... Oh yeah, with hoodpins, where are you guys attaching them at? the radiator support thing that goes across the front of the engine bay? Thanks

well in my experiences, ive seen a video where a carbon fiber hood flew off and latches and smashed right into the front windshield. its cause there is so much pressure applied upward. the stock hoods weigh so much more than carbon fiber so i would take a chance. and yes, the hoodpins go on that support where the radiator is below.

Actually I've witnessed 3 occasions where CF hoods with just pins flew off and one smashed into the windsheild. My friend with his Integra has Fiber Images that utilizes the hood latch and has never had any problems. If you think about it, both would be the best way to go. Air passing under the hood with three mounts would be more secure than two outer pins or one center latch. If it came down to it, I'd still want the hood latch. I trust the thick steel locking latch over two wimpy cotter pins holding my hood down. Besides, it's also the look, I don't want the super racey look. One more thing, another friend got his intake and wires stolen because all he had was hood pins.

well i mean, you could use all 3 mounts plus the hood pins just to make it extra safe.

Just definately make sure the latch works.

Hood pins do not provide a tight fit.

When Fiber Images made the P11 hood for Henry, they didnt put the latch in the right place, so he can only use hood pins!!

This is dangerous and very scary as your hood will shake up and down like crazy once you pick up some good speed!
