Neither of them can win, because then I won't be the first female president.

And drew, when I get there, you'll be the first to go.

You'll get your chance Nikki, They may run, but stand little chance of winning,
Just opening the doors,

I'll vote for you Nikki, no qualifications necessary,

"Disassemble", Oh I love watching Bush slaughter the english language,

Ya, he completely lost his train of thought. He was trying to spit it out, started stumbling with shame on...shame on... gave that stupid smirk, and proceeded to explain what the saying ment, since he couldn't remember the lame cliche. That was a great moment in American history.

I just saw our brilliant leader talking about the detainees at Guantanamo, he said that they are trained to "disassemble" information. Obviously his writers intended that he say dissemble (disguise or conceal). But why should the leader of the most powerfull nation on the planet be intelligent (understand the english language) or be a good communicator?
Why do you call Bush an "idiot?" Is the only sign of intelligence an ability to pronounce every word correctly? Do you always pronounce words correctly?

Read these quotes by Al Gore and tell me who the real "idiot" is:

"We're going to have the best-educated American people in the world."
- Al Gore, Sept. 21, 1997
"I stand by all the misstatements I've made."
- Al Gore to Sam Donaldson, Aug. 17, 1993
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
- Al Gore

Re: Laura vs. Hillary in 2008?

I'll agree that he isn't as dumb as he at times appears, but out of the 280 million people in the U.S. can you honestly say that he is most qualified to be president? What has he ever accomplished in his life? Is anything that he has attained not attributable to his heritage? I do think that one of the main qualifications for the U.S. President should be strong communication skills (among many other things)

I'm not a liberal nor do I consider myself a democrat, and I don't have any particular fondness for Gore. But your telling me that in order to deal with what happened on Sep. 11, we need to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and over 1,500 (and counting) American lives attacking a country that had nothing to do with it? Thats the answer?

Of all the Republican (and Democratic) cadidates back in 2000, I believe that Bush was the best choice.

Bush is not a career politician, unlike his opponents in 2000 and 2004. P Presdient who is a strong communicator is desirable, but not required.

Iraq may have had nothing to do with 9/11 (although there is evidence that Saddam had met with Mohammad Atta shortly before the attacks), but that country was certainly harboring, funding and supporting terrorists.

Bush's speech on Sept. 20, 2001 said, "Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists, and every government that supports them."
If there were no Iraqi terrorists on 9/11 does not prove that Iraq under Saddam was not a threat:

- Abdul Rahman Yasin, the man who mixed chemicals for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing was on the payroll of the Iraqi gov't and receiving safe haven there until the American invasion. IIS documents back this up.

- Zarqawi ran terrorist training camps in Afghanistan. Was injured fighting in Afghanistan and was treated in a Baghdad, Iraq hospital. He also worked with Ansar Al Islam, which was funded by the Batthists, and he coordinated the assassination of on American diplomat for USAID in 2002 in Jordan.

He IS the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet. That, in itself, is an accomplishment (??twice??) indicating a level of intelligence and communicative ability way above most of his vocal and pen-bound detractors. /QED

Why don't you tell us how much we should spend to stop the attacks on American soil?

If you live in the US, have you had any attacks in your neighborhood since 9/11?

Get up to speed on current events. Read up on the few threads like "(US) Foreign Policy." Open your eyes. If you drive a vehicle that relies on petroleum products to operate, it's time to accept some responsibility for the real reason we are in Iraq. Don't be in denial, it makes you look foolish.

ok if a older woman was to run a country, there would not be any more strip bars, beers, or run down schools-(good thing). But there would probably be a national curfew or something.........

just a couple things, then i'll leave it alone: Franko your argument negates itself. You ask me how much we must spend to stop attacks on American soil. I'll say whatever it takes. That doesn't mean we need to waste money taking over a country that was not the cause. How many of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia? How close is Bush to the Saudi's? After this proposition you then say that our main reason we are in Iraq is for oil. I didn't even say it. Bush doesn't have any close ties with Big Oil does he? There aren't any connections between the current admiinistration and the companies that the huge reconstruction contracts for the rebuilding of Iraq have gone to are there? No, of course not. We we went to fight the terrorists.

As for being President, the only reason he was elected was because of his name and family connections. He had nothing to run on. The country didn't want a democrat after Bill's fiasco, so they had a choice between two rather poor candidates. Why did Bush get the Republican nomination over McCain? Because he was a more qualified candidate?

ah, something less blood curdling. In Wisconsin, the head of the MADD program was recently pulled over and received a citation for operating under the influence. I don't champion drunk driving, but what a hypocrite.,,
