These guys aren't taking this money out fo their pocket, it's all shop money, tax deductible, they have as much as they want (well, almost), so they can have the booze, the hooker, the hotel room and the rims!

Who cares if they are not good for performance, they look cool, and not every car in the world has to be driven, some can be trailer queens.

I saw those for sale at www.takumiproject.com and i think they wanted like $2450. I think those are the rims cause those are the only work meisters that i have seen in blue. They were also the same size and offset.

Yeah, and the ones they are using don't look brand new.

Yeah, those are the wheels from takumiproject.com (I met some of their guys out in cali, nice bunch) apparently they were sold to some guy who clouldnt make em fit so Drift Factory Bought them.

For gods sakes SR20power, everyone here knows about unsprung weight. Saying that a 275 tire and a extremely wider track than any onther wheel on the market isnt gonna help preformance is wack.

Using big tires on a drift car is about big smoke and big control. 95% of the D1 level cars use a 265/18 in the back and the extra stablility that -24 offset is gonna offset any weird unsprung weight issues.(also they had custom made coilovers made with a wheel this big in mind) I gather that these will be the Time Attack / Drift wheels but they want a different set for the street.

Honestly I still dont know how is car is gonna turnout. I usually dont like widebody fastbacks... or coupes for that matter. Those wheels and Custom coilovers move the car into contention for best handling 240 Evar but I dont know if drift factory is going to be able to make the peices work together. we'll see.

They are not using those for drift, they are using those wheels for time trials and photo shoots only.

the wing is very functional. cause if you see them do drift runs at tsukuba circuit they go get quit fast. and hey usually drift at 70mph. also they do mostly have over 400whp. and most do run 245's but on a 18x10 rim. this means that the sidewalls are practically non existing. so i dont know what kind of handling characteristics it gives, but they all do it and i'm sure there are OTHER reasons to do it besides for looks.

personally i think the overly wide wheel and stretched tire look is retarded. however the only riced about the drift car is the stickers. when keichi tsuchiya was racing the AE86 class compitition, his special AE86 did not have a wing, and you can really see his ass gets twitchy even in low speed corners. he was complaining how he had no wing at all on that car. so obvious a wing does do something cause if you compared the way the non winged AE86's was cornering compared to the ones with a GT wing, you would understand they do something to.

Yeah I guess thats why they dont have roots blowers.

That would be hott... Hottness aside though, why do you always bring up completely Irrelvant facts? F1 cars besides fighting over .25 grams have a mandated tire size so the rim is the lightest possible for its size. you were arguing for light wheels but forgeting width on the basis that 275s made your implala handle less shitty. so wider tires couldnt possibly help a lighter car? even a retard can figure out that the recipe for High G is Big tire and Small Weight. Shalom is a different story but when you've got a good Skidpad car your more than half way there.

Mildly Stretched tires are there for Progressive Breakaway... Extreme stretch has the same effect but its there mainly for Big Dish. I Agree with everything TatII said... the stickers are getting weak.

Anyone seen the new T&E D1 Aristo? 930WHP anyone?

Well JGTC cars have bodykits, , widebodies, wings, vents, stickers and 13 inch wide wheels and they are counting tenths of a second, same with with the Sun Auto Evo that beat the Tsukuba record and if he was a tenth of a second faster, he would cry out of happiness.
