Re: changing Timing belt, ran into some problems.

yeah, i got it running.. sorta.

it will start, idle for like 2 seconds, then die. or you can hold the gas some and force it to stay running, but it runs VERY ruff. it has been sitting for 4-6 months so i'm not worried about it. tomorrow i will button it the rest of the way up (aux belts are all off, cover and so forth is off) and troubbleshoot. but i think it just needs to ajust itself. i realized i cracked my damn valve cover, so i am going to JBweld it as a temp fix lol.

anyone with suggestions on something i have unpluged (unlikely) or otherwise broken, lemme know. all i did was make sure it was fireing because it feels like a bad miss.

Re: changing Timing belt, ran into some problems.

Check your plug wires, check/regap/replace your plugs, or adjust the biss screw on the throttlebody until the idle is fixed. You might also want to check the fuel system to make sure everything is operating properly. If it is running without the sound of metal hitting metal, your timing is on--nice work .

Re: changing Timing belt, ran into some problems.

yeah, no metal is hitting!! lol, i'm sure it is something small. in fact now that you said it i didn't gap the plugs heh. well, at least i have direction tomorrow. i checked that the wires were sparking and there was fuel comming out after i pulled the return fuel line off to check for fuel in there, and so that i could better get the plug wires back in after i made them fit tighter.
