Anyone like Fallout Boy?

I have take this to your grave and from under the cork tree. I like take this to your grave a bit better, but its good to have something new from them to listen to.

i hate fall-out boy, but i will say that they're not as bad as other pop-punk crap like simple plan or good charlotte. that whole " pop - i guess we'll call it punk because we used distorted guitar and we have spikey hair" genre pisses me off.

word. i think the saving grace for Fall Out Boy is that they haven't sold out yet, unlike the 2 bands that you mentioned. they don't get massive radio play, 12-year old girls don't listen to them and think they're hard, and Take This To Your Grave was actually a good album, unlike anything GC or SP has come out with.

pop and punk are 2 completely different things, almost opposite ends. pop is playing to the lowest common denominator, playing to the masses, being "popular" (hence the name). punk started as "we hate the establishment", it's mostly underground, and punk bands don't usually care how big an audience they have as long as their message gets out. therefore pop punk is an oxy-moron in itself.

the thing about fallout boy, as suislide touched on, is that they dont claim to be anything they are not.

i feel that the angst most people have with good charlotte and simple plan clones is that they claim to be "punk" when really they have nothing punk about them.

fallout boy is at least aware that they are a mediocre punk/hardcore/emo/pop blend.

they were on at the same time as Emery. it was a tough choice ( ) but i watched Emery instead.
