Re: I dont know what to get help me!

IMO I repeat, IMO, Ford makes a better truck. Chevy makes a better engine.

With that said, I drive an '03, 1500 4x4 with a 9" lift and 315's. I HAVE piston slap, but no other problems to speak of. I have driven Fords and Chevy's with the same amount of mileage; anywhere from 15,000 to 120,000 miles and they both had their own problems. It all depends on YOUR taste and the previous owner(s).
Just last week we went shopping for a 3/4 ton diesel to pull our 5th wheel. I drove a F-250 Powerstroke with 76,000 miles, then drove a Silverado Duramax with 32,000 miles. The Ford blew it away in the "rattle and squeak" department. The Chevy made me think twice if it would make it back to the Dealer it rattled so much. Obviously the Ford had been taken care of throughout it's life, while the Chevy had not.
If you buy new, I suggest driving both and NOT caring what the HP or Torque #'s are. Buy what you want and don't be concerned with others opinions or thoughts. They are both great brands. Oh yeah,
(Pssssst. test drive Nissan Titan before you buy too)

Re: I dont know what to get help me!

Full size Jap trucks are ROLLING BLASPHEMY, IMO. That being said the Nissan Titan is the least evil of the Jap trucks

Re: I dont know what to get help me!

lol. autos have the ability to hold more power? not ford autos. i dont think i would have asked his question on a chevy forum, but here we are haha. i would say the 3 biggest reasons to go chevy r: looks- other than maybe the old 67-72 bodies, 99-02 r definitely the best looking and cleanest truck bodies from anyone. 2: engine- can anyone say LS1? everything interchanges. best v8 from anyone ever. and 3: that auto that was mentioned. ford never has and never will build anything near chevy's hydramatics. and lightnings r big bucks. id rather have a 454 ss just for the big block even tho its older and not as quick. i mean its a big block chevy- cool in any car or truck. keep ur lightning gimme slowpro's truck.

Whoa whoa who there. I agree with most everything you say here, but I must disagree with you on one point. The 67-72 Chevy p/u is one of the best looking trucks ever built. But, they all look good.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT test drive the Titan.

Why? You'll immediately want to trade in your Chevy.

They're f'ing awesome trucks. The 5.6L has assloads of power. I'm sure it's hella thirsty too. Fortunately, I test drove a buddy's long before I bought my Chevy, so by the time I bought it, I'd forgotten how nice it felt to drive his Titan.

If I were a rich man (and owned my own gas station) I'd probably have a Titan crew cab.

I don't know why it is they're offering the V6 in the Pathfinder (based on the Titan) but not offering the V6 in the Titan. They'd probably pull more gas-conscious buyers in if they did that..

Re: I dont know what to get help me!

The Pathfinder Armada is based on the Titan. The regular Pathfinder is based on a scaled down frame/chassis from the Titan.

Are you even old enough to drive? Your questions are getting REALLY annoying. At this point, there's enough info on this site about Silverados to write volumes on them. The bottom line? about 98% of us on this board are very satisfied with our Silverados. There is nothing more that we can tell you. Go buy a truck or bicycle or something, but quit asking stupid questions. You want a Ford? Go buy a Ford! You want a Toyota? Go buy a Toyota! You want to take a crap on a photo of a Siverado? Well, you can do that, too. Just quit being a damn troll.

...And next year Nissan and Toyota release their 3/4 ton diesel trucks. Should be interesting for GM.

He's got a valid question. Piston slap is serious and potentially very expensive to fix. Problem is, if a truck doesn't have it when purchased, it's virtually impossible to predict if it will develop in 10 miles or 50k miles. It has changed my mind for a future purchase. Maybe it will sway him too.

Re: I dont know what to get help me!

He's been trolling the Silverado section for a couple of weeks now. Plus, like I said, "You want a Ford? Go buy a Ford! You want a Toyota? Go buy a Toyota! You want to take a crap on a photo of a Siverado? Well, you can do that, too." I'm not trying to sway his opinion at all at this point; I don't care what he buys.

Chevy 5.3L - 295hp/335ft/lb torque
Nissan 5.6L - 305hp/379ft/lb torque

I am by no means saying you are wrong, but there's not a whole lot of difference here. Nissan's #'s are on par or sub par for the difference between the two displacements. Again, I am by no means saying you were wrong about your assessment of the Titan after having driven one, but I just thought I would throw some numbers out there. I got those figures from Nissan's and Chevrolet's websites.
