No, the top is the filtered side, you wouldn't want to do that, you'd be sucking unfiltered air into the motor.

Yeah, you could put a cone on it. I'm just cheap...

If I remember right. I think you just grab the bottom and pull up, it's got tabs and rubber grommets that it pops into place on, like a sidecover on a motorcycle. There might have been one bolt to keep it from popping apart...

do i have to undo any hose clamps?

and is there anything connected to it? (like wires) i remember there was somethin that made it difficult to even take the top off

No, just the duct that goes out by the left headlight. It's just a push fit, too.

You can unclamp the lid from the intake duct, get it outta the way so you don't have to fight with it.

I'll look at mine again tomorrow...I don't remember clearly. I think there might have been a bolt that secures it, don't want you to try to yank it out and break it.

But I do remember it was no big deal, took less than five minutes to remove it...

well ya im gonna do it early int he morning, around 7:30 or so hopefully ill get my ass outta my bed, cuz at 9:30 i gotta go to my friends dads test (were gonna just play games lol)

and then i gotta go straight to work 12 to 10 so ya

u just did both sides, and the bottom (facing the front of the car, well closest to the front) right?

One facing in toward the motor, one facing the battery, one facing straight down.

I don't think it would make much difference where they are, I was just trying to stay in the meatiest areas of the plastic so it wouldn't want to crack...

hey jefco i just tried to go and take the box out to drill

but ya its hard, i need to disconnect the metal thing in between the box and the tube

and i couldnt get it out do to the tube where the air sucks in, so i think i gotta take the top off so theres a lil more room, howd u get it out?
