Re: Throttle body
Shoving more air into a motor is pointless unless you have the accompanying mods to make it matter (ie;exhaust+fuel)

Re: Throttle body
Quote:
Think about it, the engine is still going to consume the same amount of air, a little more, but nearly the same, the stock fuel system can handle a <5% increase in volume. By installing a larger throttle body you are opening up the "bottleneck" to increase efficiency. Think of it as removing a restrictor plate. Your engine is not going to consume more "massive" amounts of air, unless you increase displacement or turbo/supercharge it. You will notice a power gain as the motor does not have to work as hard to pull in air on the intake stroke. Example: Imagine a 10mm TB, the engine will be using so much of it's own power to "suck" air through that tiny hole it starts creating a vacuum in the intake manifold, so you will have less-dense air entering the cumbustion chamber and hence, less power. A larger TB will allow the engine to effortlessly take in air and you'll get the most-dense air that our atmosphere can provide. |

Re: Throttle body
So does anyone know how much power this will give him?

Re: Throttle body
you could run a 62mm throttle body and you might notice a few HP gained.. but the most you will notice is the quicker throttle response
