I wouldn't be so sure 200 pounds could make up the difference of 45 horsepower. I'm sure the Z06 might be able to hang with the Viper some day. That someday isn't next year though, 500 hp, 500 lbs torque, Z06 isn't touching that.

I saw it at the local drag strip, an 02 Z06 and a 98 or 99 RT-10. Maybe it was just the driver, but when he launched he smoked the rears and lost a lot of time. I've seen it happen several times, so it can't always be the driver.

the viper's power to weight is 7.3, the Z06's is 7.6-not that far off. you're right about 2003 though, no way the Z06 will be able to hang with it, at least for a couple of years

if only chevy would put that dang 8.1L engine in the vette...don't see it coming anytime soon though...right now...i have to admit the viper will kick the vettes a$$ i wasn't trying to put down the viper when i said what i said at first...but i kinda did. i love both cars so don't get me wrong.
