Exactly; well intentioned beginnings have often gone to bad endings. Your comparison between the Nazi party and the kkk is a very good one.

KKK has been misunderstood and misrepresented due to the acts of several members from the second era.

Ku Klux Klan was a religious group, when it was formed. They believed the black man was worshipping a flase god. The burning of crosses was a symbol of showing them the light of the Lord, to try to convert them. The second era is when the hangings began, because people misinterpreted KKK as racist, not religious. The people that misunderstood the first era, joined in the second era, being racists, killed colored people. That has doomed the KKK for the rest of it's existence. This latest 3rd era has tried to revive itself as a religious group, but it is still represented by wannabe's as racist. How do I know this? I did history reports for two years in junior high on the Ku Klux Klan.

It's similar to the biker group "Hell's Angels" in California. They started out as a group of friends that would ride around. Some wannabe badasses joined and gave them a bad name. How do I know this? My dad and his buddy started the group.

Better, fictional, example; A sports team is VERY successful. Two or three players take a night out on the town, get piss drunk, assault some people, accidentally kill one, and while drunk name a couple of their teammates. These guys get prosecuted, no le-way given, but it still ruins the reputation of the entire team, even years later it is still talked about and exxagerrated how the "team" went on a "rampage" throught the streets of (city) and killed a "bunch" of people.

And i'm not going to get into a debate about which state is more racist...cause i dont care, biggotry is biggotry no matter how the pendulum swings, the KKK IS a bad organization, always has, and always will be. You're daddy probably told you that it wasn't bad because he's a part of it or something..who knows..Ignorance is bliss i guess or however that saying goes. They hung black people because of their color, not because of religion. I've watched several documentaries about the KKK, and they are still a racist biggot group of people, and they still would have hangings if they thought they could get away with it. This thread wasn't even supposed to be about the KKK or even a debate about it. It was supposed to just bad mouth the two towns and shame them, that's it.
