S-15 Importation-Where can i Get One?

Probably the DOT site. Even if you do have the car in the name of a business, I think there is a mileage limit on it or something. Oh and btw, the site Chuki posted says "We can import a car that is perfect for show or race." which pretty much means they are not street legal.

no limitation on milage, or time in the country you pay for em.. you get them... but you have to trailer them around

You open a shop that modifies cars, then you fly to Japan and find the car you want, you then proceed to import it, talk to customs to figure that part out, you then bring it to the DMV and say you want to register it in the name of your shop as a project car, they say ok and you drive it home. But first, do you have a shop? If you have answered no then forget this idea right now.

there are a couple ways to get a car over but making it 50 state legal is the problem.

bring it over in parts , chasi, engine, panls... and register it as a kit car.
problem: what happens if you crash? I bet you won't get all you money back, actually I bet you won't get any where near what you payed.

import it as a show car but thats self-explanitory not a street car.

import as a race car agian self-explanitory not a street car plus you have to show alot of paper work, competition licence, letter from nissian saying that the car was made as a race car. And that car can never be converted to a street car.

if you want a street car you must pass DOT and EPA laws. First the car must pass DOT with crash tests if the car has ever passed the test before (no US equivalent or no one has done this before). Usually it's five cars that they crash but has been know to go up to six. List of cars can be found at WWW.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import

EPA regulations are alittle harder (at least for all of us non-calif. emission states we are not use to all of that B.S.) Fed emission test takes the car on a 11-mile dynorun starting from cold start.

Once a car has passed all tests it is then put on NHTSA list.
