Some newer ones do. I got the idea from this car. If you look at the indent in the body where the wheelie bars connect to the body it has a diffuser there so it doesnt need a wing.

Re: civic drag car

im sure that it prevents lots of air from getting under the body and preventing the rear of the car from lifting. much as a wing would push the car down. the only thing i see wrong is that is a RWD and your civic is a FWD

Talking

Small update--Got a couple of other things made. I started to work on the rear axle

Small fuel cell

Breather tank/Oil catch can

Wastegate

Blowoff Valve

Cam Gears (timing belt soon to come)

Small Lightweight battery

Still have to add a dump tube to the wastegate but that will be later on once things start getting assembled.

Sorry for the crappy pics, bad lighting. Let me know what you guys think. My work area (in the basement) is under renovation, so as soon as thats out of the way I will start painting and assembling some of this stuff. In the meantime back to the styrene pile.

Update- This will be the last one for a little while cause Im gonna go away to visit family for a few weeks. Anyways got some more stuff made. I had to make a rear section to mount the rear axle and suspension. This section will eventually be braced in with the cage. Made rear shocks, made the pedals with the brake and clutch fluid reservoirs. I made a new crank pulley and a oil pump for a dry sump oil system. The pump will mount on the block and I needed a new section on the crank pulley to mount the belt that will drive the pump. Theres a tach and some guages, and started making the aluminum door panels. Some of this stuff is not finalized and some stuff might not look like much but once it gets painted and assembled it should look pretty cool. Enjoy. Feedback welcomed.

The front end is almost set. I still have to sand some minor spots then primer and re check for high/low spots
