Very nice, that's something I have yet to try. Looks complicated to me so for now I'll stick to doing the whole thing old-fashioned style.

Thanks subyfanatic. Ps makes doing shiny stuff really easy.
And anything needing a gradient comes out nice
I hope you give it shot. It has drawbacks but being able to make
corrections easily is very cool. Your work rocks - And judging by your marker work you would kick ass with it!

I'm just wondering...
Formula 1 is very popular in Europe and Japan and Brazil, but is it in the United States? Do a lot of people there even know Michael Schumacher?
Regarded from my side of the ozean, (Germany, where every child knows Schumi) your NASCAR and Indy Stuff is very unpopular, although I think there was an Indy Race at Lausitz Speedway where Alex Zanardi crashed. "Just an oval... don't know why they like it" I once heard somebody say.

Only a few Europeans know Dale Earnhardt. I guess he's your "Schumi".

And Schumi will make it!

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

Schumi ownz, and I'm from Canada. I hate Redneck racing (*NASCAR)...there is no challenge in it. Go high speed in a circle. Whoop-de-doo.

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

I don't think that we have had anybody dominate any of our sports
like he has Formula1. His run has been amazing. I don't know why americans don't care about F1. It sure
seems more exciting thanany other racing. It is strange.

I think most americans don't care about
anything outside of the US period. Look at our news.
We have about 5 minutes of international coverage. If any.
(besides iraq)
And outfits like the bbc spend
most of their time on international news.
I think americans are self centered.
But again, I don't know if this has anything to do with
why we don't like f1.

Actually I think NASCAR is so poular here because it started here. It has a rich history in the southern states, and it's inner stories as well as on track strategies are as compelling as in any form of racing.

I watch all kinds of racing...too much according to my wife. I know Schumacher and many others. I was a huge fan of Gilles growing up. I remember Senna very well. (got a cousin named after him actually). I watch Euro ralley racing as well as Boat racing from new Zealand. I watch F1 qualifying as well as the race and many many times the guy with the lead after the first turn wins.....lots of times by 20 seconds or more. The cars are fabulous and the history is amazing. Jackie Stewart anyone?

I don't think it's that Americans don't care...it's what you know. Many Europeans think American football is retarded. Many Americans feel the same way about Cricket. There isn't a right. We have many choices here. I didn't hear any mention of the dirt track stuff, drag racing, off-road, Can-Am, etc.

F1 used to be much bigger here, but once they stopped the US Grand Prix affection faded...they race once a year at Indy if I'm not mistaken, and the course in inner curves and half straight-a-way like the 24 hour at Daytona or Rolex. NASCAR also races 2 road courses a year. Watkins Glen, and I think the other one is Infinion.

As a African-American living in the desert from Alaska who drives a VW I think the diversity in viewing options offered to the American public is outstanding...it really is all about what you know.

That's one cool decription.

I have no chance to know any Us racing series from TV besides rarely ALMS coverage and Indiana or Daytona 500 or how it is called. Oh and lemorris, I've never heard about someone in Europe who plays cricket. only pakistani immigrants do...

And to defend Schumi: He's always on some charity events and he donated a lot of money all over the world. He has more money he could ever expend.

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

Now in F1 I like Shumacher but Jacques Villeneuve (RIP Gilles) is my fave...he's Canadian if I'm not mistaken and I like Kimi Raikkonen cause his name sounds cool. Though Fernando Alonso is dominant this year I hold out hope for Schumacher cause everyone loves a come back.

On another note I think a driver can dominante in F1 a lot easier than in NASCAR. With different technologies being deployed in different camps a manufacturer can exploit an edge. In NASCAR there is more parity. Every since Petty dominated in the 70's with the Super Bird NASCAR has tried to even things out. If a driver or manufacturer starts winning every week, they'll find out why and make a move to equalize the field.

The car looks good, but the blue lines along the side are always the same size. They need to each get smaller as they get farther away.

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

But on the other hand Lemmons, why? I mean, if you got stiffed on a crappy team then boo hoo...They made better developments and now you have to pay. THAT'S RACING, IT'S A SPORT, A GAME, LIKE ANYTHING ELSE. And games can't be won if EVERYONE is the same...Someone has to have an edge or what fun is it playing?

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

lol

that's what Richard Petty said....it was great for him.

If Schumachers team is so far beyond everyone else he wins 4 years in a row. In his case he's a fabulous driver but if someone wins every race by 20 seconds because his equipment is so much better...is it really "sport".

Regardless I watch many forms of racing and enjoy them for what they are. I wouldn't want NASCAR to be like F1. I wouldn't want Rallye to be like World of Outlaws. It's the unlimited things you can do with vehicles that relly intrigue.

Re: Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

Lemorris - As a guy from georgia who was taken to the cocacola 500
a few times as a kid -I know the NASCAR tradition that
you are talking about. I like nascar too. I remember seeing a
special where schumy and gordon traded cars and both did
amazing lap times at the Indy road course - I think.
For many, I bet this took away doubts that top nascar
drivers are less skilled than top f1 drivers. I think gordon
might have even done better - Schumy locked up his brakes a
few times Those 2 guys are both so stinking rich, I don't know why they
keep risking their lives in such a dangerous profession.
I hate I missed out on this one today

And thanks for the replies. Asaenz, lemorris and Mshkttck you rule!
My reference photo is really flat. I think the perspective on
this shot is kind of ugly. I think it is the lens on the camera used
on my ref foto. Not sure though. Here is a half assed fix.
Still with no stickers. Plus a looser drawing style. Less tracey.

I prefer rally racing, I yet to see the appeal of NASCAR and can't understand why it's the only thing on SPEED whenever I tune in.

Oh, and thanks for the kind words. It just shows that we all have our specialty. Markers have been friends of mine since we got acquainted years ago, I just can't let them go.

Re: Schumaker's Ferrari

True lemmons, but then again, that only makes me people fine tune the other half of the sport, the equipment, does it not?
