I agree with most of whats said about younger kids.
Im only 19, and i've only been riding since i was 17. Infact, i've been riding longer than i've been driving. I got my permit, then a month later took the Safety Class, i went from not knowing anything to graduating at the top of my class. I know that doesnt mean much but it is to me haha. i consider myself an OK rider, i cant drag a knee (if i did, it would really hurt cause i dont have leathers or the knee pads) and i cant do wheelies (only 60hp) or stoppies (brakes arent THAT good)... big deal. i dont think im going to cry in my pillow tonight for that. i just enjoy riding whenever i can find the time to. Im glad i took my saftey class, its saved my ass a few times. none of which was my fault, but cars that dont look out for bikes. which is my biggest pet peev.

The "Icy Hot Stuntas" scene on bikes is ridiculous... and apparantly addicting. Two riders in my "crew" were little stunters, and they are now bringing over their Starboyz videos and trying to get the rest of the boys into it...
As for me, there's something bad enough about riding (and losing ground... FAST) at 100mph behind people pulling 12 o'clock wheelies in the dark in traffic that isn't appealing to me. :o

Maybe I just opened his eyes to some of the other things you can do on a sportbike? Like I always say, don't knock what you can't do. Life is too short to be close minded. :finger: Those 100+ mph runs on the highway and out through the back roads can kill just as easily as a stand up wheelie can so lets be easy with the self righteousness alright?

Don't think you should be all high and mighty like. I seem to remember you being all too excited to be on your dad's bike so you could "finally keep up with the big boys." And as far as freddy goes... i ride with him more than anyone else and he's not an idiot on the bike and rides within his limits.... he doesn't sit there on his bike pulling wheelies up to QS cause he knows thats pushing his limits cause he can't really do em yet. Also don' think you should be knocking or singling people that consider you a riding buddy/friend out for everyone to read. badly done. |

Hi Seb.
![]() You know I'm a smart aleck. C'mon now. Both Carey/Keri's are smartasses. ![]() How be you? Ready to ride that badazz 929 you've got??? I know you want a Curb Monkey all for your self. Yeah, incase Freddy didn't gloat yet, I sold my bike in November, so I'm now "stuck" riding my dad's bike. Darn, 300 more cc's and Vtec. What a shame. ![]() Anyhoo, I wasn't dissin on the stuntas... well, maybe I was, but I know Freddy isn't as bad as Steve (R6) and Kenny (R1). Can't wait to see everyone up on the Mt. again!!! I'm itchin for something FAST between my knees. ![]() Oh, yeah, forgot to tell you that we have another PA guy from South Africa. Just incase you wanted to know.

I don't know why, but I am fucken raged. I just got through convincing my father about motorcycles riding. He's cool with me learning, but actually riding routinely... is still a taboo. So I reassured him I'll stay off highways and heavy-traffic streets for a while, I'll use the backroads. Kinda like a hobby, pop and son bonding, hehe. He used to ride motorcycles too, so he can relate. Plus I told him about some rider installing blinking yellow lights for one of the headlights, so he can get the cagers to pay attention..... Well enough backdrop babble.
I just dropped him in the house and went cruisin in my car to somewhere else. Right after I got out the driveway and into the main road, some crazy a**hole, hardly any more than 18 or may be less, just cut me off in his yellow Suzuki with custom tailights. I was doing 60-65. I am guessing the thing was at least Gixxer 750 or up. The idiot was wearing a baseball cap, yellow shirt, khakee shorts, and beach shades. By all means use the damn indicator! I was amazed, because it reminded me of the typical cliched squids that I hear about in this forum. Never have I seen a rider in South Florida, at least without a helmet, going 90+. And I was glad that my father wasn't in the car, otherwise he'd become very conservative about it. lol. Eventually I caught up to him as he slowed down a while before making a turn, but WTF was the point to pulling that crap, "dressed to kill himself".... and was this kid really suicidal.... |

Re: Punk kids in sport bikes
Most of the guys that cut me off in my car, are middle aged fat guys riding harleys.
