Re: Are there too many lawsuits today?

Yea. theres too many lawsuits, but I think you should read more details about them before you write them off as ridiculous. The fat asses that sued mcdonalds for making them fat had their case thrown out of court. The lady who was burned by mcdonalds coffee should not have been served 190 degree coffee. Nobody buys coffee realizing that it is 190 degrees. Of course you assume a risk that you will get burned if you spill it, but how was she to know that it would be that damn hot. 140 degrees is plenty hot for coffee, but they still made it 50 degrees hotter. They were slightly responsible for the amount of damage done to her legs.

The bill you are referring to about less court cases, is a bill preventing one person from collecting millions from a company to teach the company in question a lesson not to do that to others. Too many people were collecting millions because of everyone else's loss. You can now only sue for what you personally deserve. States had different limits to which you could sue a company, but I had a friend who was going to sue GEICO for not paying him for his stolen car which had every type of coverage possible, and when he looked into it, he learned that he could rightfully sue for a legal state limit of 240$ Million to collect on the sufferings of others who have been ripped off. That is the law they have abolished now. You can't sue for 240 million because they didnt pay for your 30,000 dollar car.

Yes there are way too many law suits today. My barn owner was sued cause some lady had poor judgement and loped on a ROCKY poor footed trail. The result hurting her and her horse. She sued about 5 years ago and my barn owner was called to court about a week or two ago. The lady was nice but stupid as shit on a stick.

Re: Are there too many lawsuits today?

I live with 3 little kids, my stepmoms kids. Any time any one of them says they are going to do something to the other they say "No you wont because Ill sue you!" So yes, there are way too many lawsuits if a 9 year old says that every day.

Nissan, for its part, called the death sad and tragic, but contends their rearview camera is a creature comfort and not a replacement for common sense. "It's a convenience; it's not a substitute for proper reversing procedures,” a spokesperson said. "Drivers should always turn around and look."

duh?

This coincides with the thread in stress relief. It's always someone else fault. ALWAYS! Thanks to our society now-a-days.
