96 transmission

This sounds like what I am experiencing also. I started a thread about my problem yesterday (didn't see yours sorry) but haven't had any replies yet. I would be very interested to know what you ended up finding out.

Yes, I finally got it fixed. Had it rebuilt and that solved the problem. Technician showed me the parts he replaced which were obviously worn. As a matter of fact, he said that if I hadn't had it fixed, it probably would have left me with only 1st and reverse in another 5 or 6 thousand miles. Well, I'm glad to have it finally fixed. Hope yours doesn't require such an extensive repair.

Most likely the infamous Delphi PCS (pressure control solenoid)... there are some awesome posts by Flatrater in the Buick Century forum... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...&highlight=pcs
