imports and domestics are just different, there is no better or worse. Some prefer the grunt power of a V8, some prefer the turbo spooling and handling of an import. Apples and oranges.

haha the domestic people got their balls ripped off in this thread can any say owned. hahaha yea i bet someone beat that guy in his v6 mustang and now he is mad. maybe imports arent as fast as muscle cars but u still have to give respect where respect is due and getting 700hp for a 4 banger deserves respect. so dont bash the import tuners . maybe go for the kids w/ neons and colored tint.but not all import people as a whole. cause thats not fair nor is it smart.

I myself am more of a domestics fan. I like big body cars, and deep rumbly exhaust tones. I wouldnt say the domestic fans got owned, we just weren't trying to make it a dispute. Most of the comments were that domestics and imports are different, and cant be compared. But I wouldn't agree that imports have the best handling. I think longer cars with wider wheel bases handle way better. I've ridden in a fair amount of tuned imports and I cant stand the way they handle. The differences in imports and domestics are all about the most important things which is why people want to argue about it. The main point is.....If you are going to drive a car, why drive that when this is so much better? And both sides are saying that.

The reason I said I dont dig on imports is because I am mainly referring to honda civics, not actually imports as a whole. There are a lot of imports I really like. I almost bought a 2002 2 door accord because I think they are bad ass. I just dont like little cars, Civics, Sunfires, Cavaliers, Neons, etc. And even when I see a Civic with a body kit, its like an ugly girl in a lot of makeup. It just really doesnt help the matter. I wouldnt feel like a man if I was driving a compact car. That may have something to do with the fact that I'm 6'8 and I could beat those cars up, but thats how I feel about it. When I see some dude rollin in his pimped out civic or sunfire I laugh and think... "aww thats a cute little car."... save em for girls, get a big car.

You know, to be honest... I like everything. Except the oldass cutlasses with hydraulics and the 60gazillion spoke rims. I just don't understand that at all. Most of the time I can picture why people like certain styles and how they developed. that one just confuses me. oh well...
I was watching the Barret-Jackson auctions recently, then something on our type of modified cars, imports and that kind of thing, and dammit I LOVE those old wide body big block vintage superbees and mustangs, GTOs and Cougars. Those cars are just absolutely beautiful! And I still love a good modified late model stang. Built the way I love 'em, not putting those goofy altezzas on the back, keeping the original heritage of the stang. I love imports just the same. Hell, I drove a T88 turbo'd RX7, next car was a lifted jeep wrangler, and now an MR2 that I'm dumping grands into, and now I'm saving to get one of those big,wide beautiful cars from the 60s, 70s so I can fix that too...

God damnit, Cars are fuckin pretty!!

He admitted hating little cars like the cavelier neons and sunfires. What's that? He didn't call them imports? Anyways when I see a neon or cavy I think of imports as well just because they're compacts, its a common mistake. The truth is they are just as import as import compacts. After reading this thread over again, I've seen lots of closed minded people. A engine is not what makes it a import. So those of you saying is because of the motor well.....

A design is not what makes it a import. So thoses of you going for looks well........

my car is a eclipse but has the same motor as the neon. Not to be confused with a gst or gsx. Am i a immestic/doport rider?

There are lots of parts made overseas and in other countries are prolly put together in other countries.

from all i can fuckin see is if the car is de-badged. what would make it a import/domestic if they were no company names on the car?

And to answer your first question; Why wouldnt you defend the truth if someone was against it? There are bad ass imports but its not the civics and integras. Sorry. Its the WRX's, Skylines, NSX's, Evo's.... not hondas. That's like some dude driving a 92 buick screaming "Domestic Pride!".... Its mostly Civic and integra owners who talk shit about domestics. Lets get real, a 400 horsepower stock cobra will smoke 99/100 honda civics. So dont scream "Import pride!" if you are only rolling a honda. Thats like the 3rd string varsity player talkin shit to the other team's first string. You cant compare little compact economy hatchbacks to muscle car. And you can't compare a buick to a Skyline. When I say that I prefer domestics over imports I'm saying I'd rather have a 69 Chevelle with a 442 and a blower, rather than a NSX. But when mr hatchback starts screaming import pride, its like... gimme a break. That aint shit. You aint even 2nd string yet son, stop bragging. You could never compare to a real muscle car.

Because of of the 'integra' in the name, and the Honda emblem, you assume I drive a Honda? Wrong assumtion (and don't look at the bio, it's 2 years old). I'm a Nissan guy.
Honestly, I'm not biased towards Japanese cars that much. stop assuming shit...my favorite FWD car is the SRT-4, and after NIssans...it's all BMW for me.

I could NEVER compare to a real muscle car? See there you go, assuming shit agian. What if I sold my car, got a 10 ten second bike and bace faster than %99 than all the real muscle cars? I'd be doing it with a bike, but at least I would be beating them.
