Excuse me, but what are you implying....that there is some devine plan or connection behind Terri's and the Pope's passing?

Hundreds of thousands of people die each day, many from terminal illnesses and old age like the Pope (and my father-in-law) and many from the removal of needed life support (a decision that my wife and her sick mother will have to face.)

Both situations are so very common, there is no irony at all!!

So truly, I find its offensive that you can accuse people of being selfish, just because their opinion differs from yours.

I'm sorry you are so upset with 2 people dying, but thousands upon thousands die everyday. The pope was just another man he was no one special.

What galled me was the fact that all the TV was showing was the pope and several people were claiming the pope would die right at 3pm the same time Jesus died. He was a human being and nothing else.

yea i hjate the news. the news is sometimes very informative but for the most part it is depressing. i think i am a happier person due to the fact that i dont watch the news. its all negative society would be better off if the news would report more positive thing rather then so much negative

Yeah sidewayz, me too. There was a time when stations reported news like "There was a big fire downtown and...." or "King Kong is climbing the Empire State Building..." But years ago when they decided to make news themselves I lost all respect for them. We've seen them actually do what law enforcement calls entrapment with their cheezy hidden cameras trying to talk some one into doing something illegal so they can get it on film. All the undercover crapola and stuff they pull is just cheap.

The pope is a man appointed by a bunch of people to run a profit producing industry much the same way as George Bush is. The pope's accomplishments are no more important than anyone else's.

According to your reasoning Bill Gates is an icon. Millions of people die every day yet not one mention is made of that. Every person on this planet makes a contribution.

And how is it really a profit producing industry, a church uses the money they make from collections on their own church and supporting the priest... they dont send money to the vatican

his accomplishments touched TENS OF MILLIONS of people around the world.... I think thats slightly more important than what i will accomplish in my lifetime
