80 in a 55 is my worst, but i've had more than i ever could possibly want, and have paid the price more than i ever want to...so hopefully no more.

Anyone have good experience with radar detectors?

I work at a police department, and at least around here, it'd be useless ... most of the officers rarely, if ever, bust out the radar ... they just pace people instead. On highways though, I'd think Highway Patrols / DPS would use radars a lot more often.

Radar detectors are pointless nowadays cause the police who use them dont turn their radars on until a car approaches.

I had one for a few years, it isn't perfect, but it did save me quite a few times. It wont replace paying attention to the road, but it is a good supplement to have. Just make sure you hide it under your seat if you get pulled over. All in all it was worth the $80 I paid for it on ebay.

figure i would post cause i just got received one... i was driving through oregon and got lasered (not radar) at 92 in a 65. Cop wrote me out the ticket and price right there and then. $421

this is not true as some cops in my area leave it on just driving around normally.
