By buddy traded in his Acura CL for an AWD Magnum RT. That thing isn't geared right for sprinting around town, but it really comes to life above 45mph. He ordered a full exhaust for it a couple days ago. Just letting a hemi that size breath better should net another 30whp if not more. I wouldn't be surprised to see 300whp even. There's something about hemi motors and exhaust upgrades. It's sorta like turbos and boost controllers. They really work together well. He's not really the type to dyno the car or anything, but I'll report back after a professional butt dnyo. Methinks it will be like a new car.

the '04 Espirits were putting out around 350 hp, 295 ft/lb torque, 0 - 60 in 4.8, 1/4 in 13 sec.

actually your stats are a whole second off. the elise runs low 13's. and the 04 espirit TT has 380hp iirc and are high 12 second cars.

Yeah Hemi's like exhaust upgrades but you gotta remember its not a real Hemi with Hemispherical cylinders. I know i have seen the inside of about 10 of them so far. They have 2 spark plugs for each cylinder too so imagine what its gonna be like when its time for a plug change I have already seen dyno's of an exhaust system on a Hemi and its suppose to add like 17hp. Can't remember what company makes it though.

Your right about that. I have a video somewhere of an elise racing a Ferrari f40 on a track. It was a cool video, the elise was holding its own.

if you truck has hemisphereical heads then its a hemi, all companies have hemis... dodge just patented that name, its pretty dumb really.the old ford 429 was a hemi.

well new hemis dont have hemispherical heads, yet they are called a hemi. according to the poster i quoted the only difference is 2 plugs/cylinder, which my truck has. so by that token, my truck has a hemi 4-banger

i think he was talking about the elise, not the espirt, although its faster (tt v8) it dosnt handle aswell and is much more expensive, the elise however weigh much less and use a 190 hp NA 4 banger

Werd, who cares what a Magnum can do in a straight line, the lotus is a race track car, not made for 1/4 mile racing. I even think that it uses a toyota engine that they put in the celica.

Every car has its advantages. If we all just wanted straight line performance, then most of us would be driving domestics.

Why don't we all just buy a HEMI powered Jeep because it's faster than the 2.8L Audi A6 in the 1/4.
