I know that this is a really old thread but I was on Ebaums World and found the actual news clip about the whole thing. Unfortunetly you can't see the shift knob anymore through the ebay link but for those of you who remember this as I do this is kind of cool. I'm going to ask the seller how much he got for it.

Since ya can't see the ebay link anymore, some of you have no idea what this thread is about besides a guy surviving a crazy car accident as you can see from the link to ebaums. The guys shift knob was the only other thing besides himself to not get hurt in the accident, when he went to the junk yard he saw the shift knob standing proud so he took it as a souvenier but is "now" selling it on ebay.

Wow, I live in York too. I have never heard about this. Deffinatly one messed up situation. I think I would have gotten out of the car and bitch slapped the driver who rear-ended me though.
