I do love the balance it has and the predictability when you get into a sticky situation it has compared to the different FWD's I've owned over the last couple years. Honestly, I think I'm just afraid of breaking something with how often I see "tranny replacement" come up in the forums.

Re: sst shifting, no first gear?

The trannys don't break from hard throttle use. They either get abused (reverse/first drops, etc) or ~just~ break. Just one of those things....

I drive my LS harder than my 500hp Corvette convertible, cause I know it won't break and it won't get me into as much (if any) trouble. Cars like my vette, however well balanced (the Vette is like 54/46...not too bad), is that thay are so powerful that even a little too much throttle will put you backwards on the highway at 65 mph... I don't have that fear (respect?) in the LS. I know I can punch it almost indiscriminantly without fear of loosing it unless I'm pushing real hard in a corner. Once I get the Torsen installed, it will be even better.

Flog the LS...it will thank you.

seems the actual numbers do not prove out your statement of "My company car is a Ford Taurus 3.0sohc-it will walk the lincoln hands down, no question" - but then you're base in reality - right?
Your arrogance irritates...

This is why it's such a waste of time to post..

I'm telling you of my experience, what would I have to gain by making it up?
but since your cockiness opens the box...

If you knew much about drag racing you would know that there is no significant seat of the pants feeling difference between a 15.9 and a 16.1 ET..

Even worse, try to stay focused on the fact that your comparison is between a car that claims to be a performance sedan and the family Taurus... there is your reality..

The statement I made was based on my experience...

There are plenty of local tracks here in Florida, I would love to prove my point, If anyone is a local and would be willing to VERIFY what i am saying I'll bring BOTH cars...

Looking at the 60ft,330 and 660 foot markers, because those are the distances most closely related to normal around town performance driving.

If you aren't going to take the "you know all" attitude, I'm all for making this happen......prove me wrong...

Re: sst shifting, no first gear?

I'm in Ohio, but even if I was closer, you'd still lose in a stock Taurus. Quik and I aren't stock anymore!

Tell you what... Take both cars to the track this weekend and run them. Report back on Monday with times. I'm curious how this will turn out.
