Replaced egr valve today, what a pain. Took it out on th e highway for 75 miles and no problems. Seems to have a little more get up and go as well. Held steady @ 80 mph for 10 min. no miss and smooth sailing. Looks like this was the fix.

Yes..if one section was left opened, some exhaust recirculation existed even when computer wanted none so you get more fresh air to burn fuel now when accelerating.
