yep...it doesn't go anywhere near the turbo...actually it goes closer to the throttle body.

lots of intercoolers put the bov on the intercooler. go ahead and put it near the tb and tell me when you get compressor surge. the reason it goes closer to the turbo is because it makes sure you release all the air out so any air that reversed direction will release before the turbo. if its put near the tb, theres a good chance youll get alitle compressor surge before all the air is released. the bov near the turbo makes sure it released before it hits the turbo

Re: Blow Off Valve...

The reason why you want it closer to the TB is so that that when you let off the gas and your butterfly valve closes in the TB, your BOV will open and release the pressure in the charge pipes so your turbo doesn't keep pumping air into your butterfly valve and bend it in half when it's closed (and of course stop sending compressed air into the engine too). Technically, you can put it anywhere on your charge pipes between the intercooler and the TB, but the close to the TB the better so that the pressure closest to the TB will release the quickest and no damage will be done.

Re: Blow Off Valve...

theres not gonna be any damage to your tb. bend the throttle plate, yeah right. the only damage that can come of getting off the throttle is to the turbo through compressor surge. so by your guys own definition, you would want it closer to the turbo.

the idea of the bov is to protect the turbo so is the ideal place farthest away from the turbo it can get? or would it be better to put the bov near the turbo so protect any boost from going into it backwards. because at the tb boost near the compressor might go back into the compressor, so if you have it near the compressor it will make sure no boost goes into the compressor

Re: Blow Off Valve...

basically...it pushes all the air out from your head. there is a hose on ur head that goes from your head to your intake. if you take off the hose the breather filter goes on the head.
