Riots are bad. I'm not saying that peaceful protests are bad, but when the protestors start acting violent, and cause damage, than it is bad.

Let's say for argument's sake that Saddam was still in power and that for arguments sake the US wasn't in Iraq. Then a bunch of civilians finally decided to overthrow the dictatorship but then were gunned down with "pain-guns"....would that be bad or good?

Then specify that in your post. Don't imply that all riots are bad. And just because this weapon is developed in the US that doesn't mean its technology won't be used by other countries. Take North Korea for example the seat of one of the most brutal dictators in history.

The US is sharing many technological developments with North Korea. Through a combination of security lapses and indirect purchases on the international markets countries that are not friendly to the US have repeatedly purchased equipment and technology against the wishes of the US.A simple example would be the sale of nuclear material to Iran by Russia. The US has no say in how technology spreads around the world,and Russia has put George Bush firmly in his place by ignoring his demands.


The disturbing thing that occurs to me in this research is that there appears to be no limit to the pain levels that it can be inflicted.Even if developed as a riot control device, it could end up killing the elerly or the sick.Or more disturbingly, there is no indication that it couldn't be used to intentionally kill.I'm certain that if you amplify pain enough, it would result in death.
